Question Evosport rotors on the way, which brake pads?

My Evosport Rotors are finally on the way and was wondering which
brake pads to get? My OEM pads have about 9K miles on them and
still look good but was told I should install new pads when changing
rotors. Should I stay OEM or go aftermarket? Any recommendations?

Most of my driving is street with the occasional 1/4 mile dragstrip
event.

I've searched the site and found some helpful information but wanted
to see if any other owners had opinions.

Thanks in advance.

I would stay with OEM, but if you want something that's gonna have some serious bite then I would go with the ENDLESS pads. They are expensive but good if you run your car at the track.

I just got my self some Rotors and was thinking the same question but I only have 8K on mine so should I change them also. The OEM pads last over 30K thats what my last set lasted me.

None fast enough!
For the street, stock is a really good option. This is really the best compromise for performance, dust and noise.

For the race track or more spirited driving, there are some good options as well. Endless does make amazing pads (I was not sure that they made them for this car). We offer Hawk and Raybestos as well.

Thanks
Brad

For that $$$, you just as well get the endless pads. I've got them, motul, and ss lines. Call ACGSD. You're the opposite of me, I have everything but the rotors...

I got the rotors from ACG. I inquired about pads but never got
a response.

I just priced out the pads and sensors from parts.com and the total
came to $367.20 less shipping.

The dealer wanted over $400 for just the front pads.

I'd be keeping the old rotors and pads and then put them back on when you eventually sell the car. That way you'll have some low mile brakes and it's te first thing buyers look at.

As for your dealer pricing, screw that. I've been buying parts off these guys.

People keep telling me it's better to replace with new pads when
changing rotors but they never tell me why.

I'm trying to get new pads and rotors bought and installed by
May 12th for Atco, so I may have to pay a little more to get
them sooner.

You change pads when changing rotors becuase the old pads are most likely not worn down perfectly even accross the entire surface of the pad. This is not an issue when they wear this way over time because the rotor they are pressing against is what is causing them to wear this way so they "match up" with that rotor fine. If you install a new rotor with a flat, machined face with the old pads they will most likely not mate up to that face evenly accross the entire pad surface. This can cause vibrations, noise and reduced braking efficiency. New pads will eliminate the chances of any of these happening to you.

Just got my Evosport rotors, stainless steel lines, and new OEM pads installed at the Mercedes dealer here in Atlanta. So far (~250 miles) am loving the performance!! Looks to be a great product.

It is always recommended that when you replace your rotors, you should also replace the pads. As the rotors and pads need a bedding in period. Putting new rotors without new pads is stupid in my opinion.
