Some douchebag keyed both side of my car.

My insurance say they will cover it as long as but I have to pay $500 deductible. I'm planning to take it to the MB bodyshop and get a quote.

Will they able to match the paint and restore it? It really sucks because I was going to make my car sparkling new after a long Canadian winter.

Anyway, be careful of evil keyers out there...

Since your car is relatively new a really good body shop should have no problem matching and blending even metallic colors. The tuffer thing to match is the factory texture (orange peel) in the paint. With computer controlled paint robots the amount and texture of the paint is very precise. Something that is very difficult to duplicate by hand. Let the body shop know you are concerned about both. Take lots of before and after pics. The hood of my C43 got egged which shattered the paint at the point of impact. I had a factory authorized MBZ body shop repaint it three time before they got it right.

I swear to god if I ever see someone keying someone else's car, I'll beat the crap out of them.

This is the most frustrating thing ever. I remember my in laws' car was keyed along with 20 other cars, like someone running along side cars, keying them.

This is why I need a private indoor garage to sleep at night. I got my previous car (Honda) stolen and taken for a joy ride twice in a month. Thank god I had satellite tracking.

My 07 STI got keyed from the front quarter panel to the rear, all the way to the metal. I have yet to go back to Queen's homecoming.

That sucks. How deep is the scratch? If not too bad, you might be able to polish it out.. and it might be a better option than repainting..

General rule is, if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, its gotta be repainted. A scratch into just the "clear" can often be buffed out or the "clear" repainted. Another is the use of a wet sand (very fine grit at 2000 grit or even 1500). You can use a block sand for that.

Surface scratches not into the paint itself can also be buffed at times. If its through the clear coat, you're probably toast..............

If you know who did it, let me know and i'll destroy their face for you. I hate jealous scumbags that do this type of ****. If you have something against me take it out on me and not my car. I would rather take a punch in the face over getting something like this done to my car. I remember in high school I use to drive my brothers 5 series all the time and one day this clown keyed it because I had hooked up with his gf, which i had no idea she had a bf, and the next day I sent the kid to the hospital with a broken nose.....

My wife's E63 got keyed two months ago down to the metal from the rear passenger door all the way to the taillights. Took it to the Mercedes body shop and took them two times to get it right. It's still not perfect but it's pretty good. Like someone previously stated, you got to worry about the orange peel and also look out for lines if they don't fade/blend it in properly. I had lines and overspray and they had to redo it.

I had my 190E 2.3 16v keyed from front to back and the pasenger side door kicked in and the hood of my ML was keyed last weekend. These losers have no respect for others and need to get beaten badly.
