Winter Tire size, 255/40/18 is fine?
Hello.
I know it's spring but one of my buddy is selling his 99% brand new winter tire from his Porsche.
It's 235/40/18 & 255/40/18.
I know fronts are fine but rear tires are little tall for C63.
Just wondering if this set up is fine? or ESP will engage often?
Should I just pass the deal?
TIA!

Ideally, you want to use skinny tires in snow that cut into the snow, and place more pressure and weight on a smaller surface area to get better traction in snow.. 235, or even 225 all around is what you want for snowy areas.

I ran 235's all around on stock wheels last year and it looked a little odd. Going to try and find 255's for the back this winter. Also managed to rip right through the rears in like 3k miles.

It's winter.. your not exactly going to be racing it (well I hope not).. at least not in the palces where winter sucks.. ie the North East... go with the most narrow tire possible for the duration, or you will just end up spinning your tires alot and eating them up much quicker..

Ran 235s. I don't know how much snow u get but 255 is not optimal. Get a wheel/tire combo for the winter. Also good because u can rotate as well
