whats better, a C63 or a BMW M5?
#2
Probably not going to get an unbiased opinion here, but from the 1 time I drive the C63, as opposed to the 1 time I drove the M5; it is my personal opinion that the BMW isn't and never will be on the same level as the C63.

this isn't really an apples to apples comparison since the E63 is more of a direct competitor. With that said, the M5 is bigger and more luxurious. You also get 500HP, a wailing V10 and it pulls like a freight train on the top end.
The C63 is a torque monster thats is smaller and a little more nimble. It's a little quicker off the line but will lose ground to the M5 on the top end.
At the end of the day, your answer is going to be based on what you're looking for from your sports sedan - either way, you're winning.

The M5 is better compared to the E63... while the C63 is better compared to the M3 sedan. But if you really want to compare them directly, the C63 is more compact in size and thus more nimble and has a very solid V8 while the M5 is a mid size sedan that can fit the family better, has a V10 that pulls more at the higher end than the C63, and is offered with a 6 speed (which can be a deal breaker if you want a stick shift... the E60 offered it, but not sure about the new F10). I can see it being a tough choice, but you really can't go wrong with either one. As much as I like AMG, I would probably end up going with the M5 instead of the C63.

you can't compare the two.
depends on what you're looking for.. But i'd stay away from BMW's TT technology for right now..
Ask me why..
And besides the new m5 has nothing over the e60M5. I'd buy that car for that v10 sound alone.

I thought they stopped the previous M5 with the 2010, and new one will be the 2012 (so no 2011)?
If you're referring to the 2012, I think you should test drive it and the C63 before deciding (and the E63, etc.). These cars all have a different feel, so I don't think it would be wise to choose one just based on performance stats.

I was thinking more of the previous M5. As obvious as it sounds, I'd say wait until you can get your hands on one of the new ones at a dealer to test drive before you pull the plug. Once you've had the chance to get into both, you can probably better see which one of the two fits you.

i ment the 2010 BMW M5 , sorry for the typo. i really dont like the e63, it looks like an old men's guy.
the one thing im scared of on the C63 is that it looks like a C300 and people might think i have a C300 rather a C63 which costs twice as much.

oh in that case, we are still talking about the E60 M5. That should be the least of your concerns, you should decide on which one is the right driver's car for you, not what others think of your car. Anyone who knows a thing or two about cars can tell the difference between a C300 and C63.

why is that? 2 of my friends cant tell a difference between a c63 and a c300 if they dont see the badge so i know there are others out there too.
but yea regarding the 2010 M5 , its a beast from what i see on the road, the sound is makes is just ... i cant even put it to words,
which car drives better though ,the c63 or the 2010 m5? does the m5 have any known problems with that specific model? does the c63?

I don't know why people buy a performance marque only for the namesake or what others think of it. I stress this again, buy what you want. You know what you drive and that's all that matters, not what someone else thinks. The only way to know which one drives better is for you to get behind the wheel of both and compare them, your opinion of handling might differ than someone else's

is the E63 much better than the C63? please dont say to get behind the wheel and test it, ill eventually do that but leave that aside now as thats not why i came to post on a forum.

there is no better or worse, its subjective. Better for what? racing, drag, comfort, daily use?
only thing I can say is that the SMG tranny in the e60 M5 is TERRIBLE, SLOW, JERKY, Sucks for daily use and has problems often.

thats what i was looking for, so your saying the M5 has alot of problems and is a terrible car overall which requires losts of maintenance aswell, is the C63 the same way? does it require lots of maintenance?
im asking for like daily use you know, im not a racer or anything, im looking for a great monster of a car that gets people's attention because of how great it is, thats what an M5 does to me when i see it in the street, that noise.. oh god. but ur saying the transmission in it sucks so.. i dont know now.

Miserly mpg, exhibitionist torque (i.e. Q5 TDI)
In short, you can't fight physics. The m5/e63 are bigger and heavier than the c63, which translates to better luxury and comfort but less fun. There is a reason the world's great sports cars are fairly small.
Also, if your friends can't tell the different between a c63 and c300, they probably can't tell the difference between an m5 and a standard 5 series either. I guarantee, however, they'll hear the difference between a c63 and c300.

does the C63 make loud noises at low revs too or you need to go above 3k/4k to hear the loud noise? on the BMW M3/M5 you hear the loud noise even when the car is idle almost as in waiting in a red light and as soon as they press the pedal , even slightly you hear the roar.
i heared C63s but their roar isnt very loud.
what DD GT3 said about the m5's tranny threw me off though.
and the car will be for fun you know man, like weekend and such. im not taking any road trips or anything

The M3 is a great car but you can not compare the sound to a C63 (stock vs stock).
Try to get an M3 to sound like this.
