Automated fog lights
Got my C63 a few weeks back and just noticed while turning the steering wheel (with the automatic headlight switch set on) my fog light automatically switches on depending which direction I'm steering. It seems like a driver assist option as oppose to a defect. Can anyone shed some light?

Congrats and welcome.
Don't know about you but when a new car comes home you can't find me for a couple of days cause I am reading the manual...
I strongly recommend that especially if you have not had a recent year MB.
What you refer to is the corner illuminating light system that turns one driving light on when you make a low speed turn or signal a turn. Normal and helpful.

And in case you are wondering my dealer told me it is not possible to disable the cornering light function. The explanation he gave me is that it is deemed to be a safety related setting which is non adjustable - although it IS possible to disable Daytime Lighting using the OBC - which I would classify as a "safety related" feature - so it sure beats me!!!

If u turn on the fog manually by pulling the knob, it will keep the fogs on all the time & not do this weird thing. I hate it as my friend always think my fogs are blown.

Thats funny that this was posted today. My brother yesterday just mentioned that one of my fog lights was off when I was turning into the garage. I'm guilty of not reading the manual as wel.

surprisingly it does help in when you're pulling up to your driveway in the dark. It does look a little odd with only one fog on, but it doesn't really bother me since i don't see it myself haha.

i just pull the knob out once for the fogs to stay on cuz i think it looks pretty stupid when only 1 fog is on . it looks like the rest of the beat up cars in El Paso that are done half *** . my GLK has the same thing but it's a bulb in the headlights that turn on when turning .

Hey, while we are on the subject of this type of question, Does anyone know what it means when you are stopped or driving super slow, why 2 of the park assist lights come on in the front LED display and turn off once you go accelerate past about 5mph ?
