do you think the 2012 upgrades are worth getting?
Specifically the MCT.
I want a p31 car now, and it looks like I'll have to order one and wait for it to come in. But if I can find a new 2011 with p31, do you think I should go for it? Do you think the MCT alone is worth the wait? Seems like it's not really that much of an improvement for strictly street driving (which is what the car will be intended for). I understand that the updated interior & exterior styling is subjective.

Well, the MCT being 20% Faster is worth the wait over getting the 2011 Model. I havent test drove the 2012 C63 yet so i cant comment on how much "Faster" or smoother it actually is over the 2011 but if i were you, i would wait and go for the 2012 C63.
Just my .02 Cents.

I've driven the 2011 C63 and now own a 2012 C63...
MCT is much nicer! Fast fast shifts and the rev matching when downshifting is BEAUTIFUL!
Get a 2012.

I had a 2010.
2012 is a whole different beast - 2012 Handles better, shifts better, looks mean, the electronics alone, including the 3d NAV, live weather - yep no brainer.
good luck ! ! !

Here's my dilemma:
I found a new 2011 fully loaded p31 car with a LSD. I also found a 2012 Edition One. I like the fact that the '11 has the p31 and is fully optioned. But the 2012 has the newer exterior and interior, MCT, as well as the exclusivity of the Edition One package.
What do you guys think? 2011 p31 or 2012 Edition One?

Yes , the 2010 E 63 has the same tranny as the 2012 C63, in my opinion i would get a low milage 2010 - 2011 E 63. since its almost the same price as a brand new c63 2012. the thing is as i remember the E 63 comes with an air suspension so it more comfortable when needed and sportier when needed.

and so much more expensive to replace
our w220 just had a strut break, had to replace, 1400$ for the strut and then install
but yeah, i want an E, got 2 kids, and id like to strap them into their recaro car seats and put them in the back....just not happening in the c class

That's a tough one.
I would lean more towards the P31 with LSD, better internals (forged pistons, power bump to 481hp, etc..)
Advantages of the Edition 1 is its exclusivity, MCT transmission, and reworked exterior and interior styling.
Definitely a tough choice.

I agree, its a tough choice, if it was my money, id go for the 2012 Edition 1. (MCT Tranny, Much nicer interior and the exclusives of the Edition 1 C63)
