This is BS, did these cars have wheel locks? You let me catch someone trying to steal my wheels and tires. He'll catch a bullet from a Kimber .45. But surprising the alarms system didn't sound?

Peter, how about you send DanVel a set of locks gratis since his misfortune is going to turn into a bunch of sales for you?

Just a thought...

It really doesn't matter if you have wheel locks or not, if a thief wants your wheels bad enough, he'll find a way to get them. Hopefully, my locks will slow him down enough for me to bust a cap in his a**

Can't tell if you're being serious or not, but legally you can't shoot someone for stealing something from you. Them stealing from you does not put your life or someone else's life in imminent danger, so lethal force is not allowed. Just sayin'.

@OP...no offense but the pic of your situation is so LOL. I always thought "car on blocks" was a stereotype thing that never actually happens.

Anytime you feel you are being threaten you may legally use force to protect yourself. If I walk in my garage and I see two people taking my wheels off my car and let’s say they come at me or I feel they are reaching for something I have all the right to do what I feel is right to protect myself and my family. And trust me i get Scared very easily….

It's a situation that is better to play safe than test in court. You can very easily be charged with manslaughter with the reason being "you see people stealing your rims, you should have left the area and called the police". The self-defense argument only works when you didn't escalate the situation. Calling out some thieves and waiting for them to reach for something or come at you is escalating.

^^ Also depends on how liberal your state is with gun laws. I've read a few cases where totally legit self-defense cases still get prosecuted because the DA was arguing you should curl up into the fetal position if someone starts shooting at you.

Legal debate is fun

I always worried about this type of theft when I was in the Honda/Acura game. I guess it happens in the Benz world too.

Sorry for your loss.

I feel like I’m back in school doing case laws. Ok you make a point however you’re missing some major points. They are in my property and not out in my driveway. Sure if they are running away you can’t use force. However as I stated they are in my garage , I walk in and see them, I feel that I’m in danger, I feel that they are pulling out a gun or a knife Or they are coming after me. I have the full right to use force with nothing to worry about. Just yell and give a warning 1st , then do what you need to do if you feel you are in danger.

That sucks! I can almost 90% guarentee you it was someone related to the shop you bought them from! This happened to me with an expensive mountain bike I had stolen when it was locked up. It was a local shop that stole the bike and tried to grind the engraving out. Good thing I took lots of pictures and had a lot of custom parts on it! I am definitely engraving my wheels now. I hope they find the ****ers that did this! I hate ****ing punks like that.

You need to think like a cop. If you're smart enough to carry a gun also carry a throw down weapon with you and leave it in the buggers hand. (Even a toy gun or knife will get you a decent self defense argument).

Unfortunatly that dosent work in canada no one is armed here actually the law says if you catch a burgler in your house you are to leave and let them rob you... if you chase them down the street you'll be charged with more serious charges then robbery... not many canadians actually understand our laws... which protect the criminals rights more so the the victim

That is just stupid... so let's assume someone's 16 year old, who is otherwise a good kid, makes a bad choice one night to steal something and is shot and killed. How would you feel if that was your kid and would it be justified? Not in my opinion. This guys life was not in jeopardy and he shot those guys anyway... so Texas has a death sentence now for theft? Wow.

Sucks for the OP and his neighbor losing their wheels. But using lethal force over catching someone steeling your wheels? Thats why we have insurance to cover the loss.

Good luck fighting that in court, unless you are in TX. Which allows lethal force if you/someone life is in danger and over property as well. In VA Castle Doctrine is for you/another's life is in imminent lethal danger and lethal force can be used.

But if the thieves come at you with a tire iron, screwdriver, then yes you can do a double tap and call 911.

I agree, as I m still a young guy and everyone has been at the age where us guys rebel against anything.

I have done my fair share of vandalism and stupid stuff which I am not proud of but whats done has been done and I am a lot wiser with those experiences.

I don’t think anyone here is saying just go and shoot someone for stealing, they including myself are saying if I walk in on them and you feel you are in danger because they are coming at you, then I’m sorry I really don’t care how old they are. If they are going to hurt me I’m doing what I need to do to stop them till the cops arrive.

I Just wish that the people who are stealing these wheels could read this and think 2x. However we just released 6000 so called low risk prisoners in an economy that normal people can’t even get jobs, so sadly we’re going to see allot more of these things happen. We can all thank Obama for that one also....
