Catch Cans are a common mod for LS based engines. It keeps the intake clean and I can’t see why that wouldn’t also benefit AMG engines. Good job.
Do you have installation instructions?

But, clearly you can see the oil in the intake manifold pics, so if this device can reduce that occurrence, then it think it makes sense.
It looks like a real nicely designed part.

When I had an LS engine with a Kenne Bell blower on it, I called them and asked if a catch can would be of value, they told me it was unnecessary. I know there is a split of opinion as to whether these devices really help the engine in the long term. Sometimes they are marketed as helping increase power somewhat, which is unlikely.
But, clearly you can see the oil in the intake manifold pics, so if this device can reduce that occurrence, then it think it makes sense.

There are definitely those for and those who believe they have no benefit.
I don’t know anyone who uses them for horsepower gains or even if there would be any. It could be possible you may be robbed of a small amount of horsepower if you had excessive oil build-up, I honestly don’t know.
Those I know who use them do in the understanding they help eliminate oil in the intake and that can only be a good thing. It keeps the throttle body clean, it keeps oil vapour from mixing with the air/fuel and for those that still have MAF sensors connected, (mine are always binned when the cars are tuned) it helps keep them clean. I haven’t heard of any negative effects caused by their use but I’m prepared to be educated.
These do look good but I agree with the others, much too pricey in my mind. For other makes of engine they are between one and two hundred dollars.
Does anyone know if they are interchangeable between makes, the good quality ones on the market all look basically the same to me.

I like the idea of catch cans, used the Greddy one in a few vehicles before and it did an excellent job. This one looks like an improved version with the 'steel wool' packing material. A little steep in price but I'm sure it's a quality item.

I like this product. My ML63 was pinging and it was due to carbon / oil build up on the piston tops. I have a pic taken by a cylinder camera before it was cleaned away and it was very obvious.
If this can help stop the oil ending up in the motor I think its definetly a benefit.
$500 doesn't seem too steep in my book.

Been cleaned out since that shot. Should be clean now but yeah i think ill be getting this oil separator.
Always use RON 98 octane. Never uses oil either, have never had to top it off between oil changes.
Car is used as a shopping cart. Lots of short trips.
Should have bought an ML320CDi
Apparently its common on E60 M5 V10's as well.
