Red C63 AMG trunk emblems ??

Sorry if this has been asked before since i'm relatively new to this forum.

My question is, where do you buy colored emblems ? Specifically red as seen in this picture. Or do you paint them, if so, how do you do it. thanks !Red C63 AMG trunk emblems ??-habcj.jpg

I bought new ones from Express Body Parts (you can find them online) and painted them red myself. They already have two sided tape attached so application is very easy.

plastidip is the simplest solution. Getting a new set of emblem makes it really hard for you to line up the emblems properly again when you install it.

No, it's easy. Just put some painters tape under the existing numbers/emblems and mark the existing position of them. Heat up the existing emblems with a heat gun or hair dryer and peel them off (or use dental floss to "slice" them off). Clean off the sticky residue and stick the new ones on.

home the point
Do you prep the badges? For example sand the chrome so the paint will stick better? I noticed that my plastidip-ed grille is peeling at a spot.

I sand them, prime them, paint them and then clear coat them. Sounds alot but it's quick and easy really.

Getting new ones, sanding them, painting them and then clear coat is the 100% solution. I painted mine plastidip black on the car. They look fine but I know that I'll have to redo them every few years as platidip is not as tuff a paint.
