I prefer to keep my C63 BS (coming in May) completely homogenous and german, not interested in any italian type badging, paint etc. To be honest, I don't see what Ducati has anything to do with AMG.
It would be different if Ducati helped build a high revving AMG motor with the AMG guys and threw that in the "Special Ducati Edition" and used it in a race where it counted, and won. But until that happens, it is all a marketing gimmick. Also, I don't think its available in the USA at all, they can't even get the orders right here. They already ran out of carbon for the outside.
As for the comparisons, I think each car will give each owner a different driving experience, for some the GT3 experience is better, for some the C63BS exp will be better. Who cares! Do what makes you happy!!! Forget what others think, it'll dilute your experience if you worry about that all the time.

CLK63 Black Series
All cars like this are a waste of money - they are expensive toys, nothing more, nothing less. If you are concerned about the money then you shouldn't be buying one (black series). If they had offered carbon ceramics for my BS for $15k when I bought it I would have paid for them for the weight savings in rotational mass and unsprung weight alone. not to mention their better no fade stopping power, no brake dust and better handling. If you wanted to go aftermarket for carbon ceramics you would be right around $15k after everything was said an done. So, it's actually not a waste at all.

They introduced him as the guy who knows everything about AMG's past, present and future and if we had questions, he's the one to ask. As I was admiring their C63 BS we started chatting and I asked about a Ducati edition and he said that project will not happen due to the "Canadians" letting the cat out of the bag about the project and the Volkswagen purchase. I assume Volkswagen really is the deal breaker. But he was clear its a dead project.

too bad about the ducati edition. but with the audi buyout, there was no way it wouldve gone through

That's not a Ducati edition. It never happened. That's a 2013 C63 Black Series (Canadian Spec), one of 5 in Cashmere white in North America. Japan had a similar run of Cashmere white cars as well, but I'm not sure of the production numbers.
