Why, cause he doesn't believe in acting like a lunatic on public streets? There are lots of places to drive a C63 like it was meant to be driven and many choose to drive this way where it is safe to do so. Not commenting on the OP or his actions... I wasn't there. Many here have kids, spouses, others on public streets and worry about people who drive irresponsibly and when some people (not saying you OP) get into a 480hp rocket ship and think they are Mario Andretti when they just aren't, how could you not worry? Just sayin'

@OP... congrats on the outcome.

I wasn't commenting on the specifics of the OP's issue... just how it isn't unreasonable for people to be concerned about others driving safely on public streets. We all mess around sometimes but need to be safe. Just because that matters to someone shouldn't have anything to do with whether they should own a C63.

Agreed. What gets oh-so tiresome though is to have those types presume to stake out the position of higher moral authority and lecture others on what to do and how to behave. Will those people be happy when we are all a nation of homogenized sheep? GMAFB. I mean, what in the OP's original statement - taken at face value - could be construed as unsafe behavior?

Good job winning the system ... I've had my share of BS tickets.
The court hearing takes half a day minimum up here in Calgary ... so not worth the effort.

Unless you like spending time in traffic court to fight and/or hope for a no-show from the cop in the future, I'd suggest toning it down on public roads.

I just downed 15 glasses of Scotch, snorted some cocaine and am now heading out to challenge any BMW that I can find to a street race and if anyone happens to beat me (unlikely), I have my semi automatic and plan to finish them off that way

+1

Seriously. A 1 second tire squeal happens from time to time. Ive done it accidentatly. I only have a 500 but sometimes I forget how much torque my car has and push the pedal a little too hard and then I let off. 1 second Sounds like a chirp to me. 3 seconds...maybe you have something. But It's not like he was burning out or doing donuts in the intersection. And accelerating fast is much safer then changing lanes so enough with the moral condemnation. You cant kill somoene by a 1 second chirp accelrating quickly from 0-15. And cops out here in the sf bay are not going to waste their time with a 1 second squeal, or just becaus you're accelerating fast unless you're being a complete danger, or are clearly racing someone. And the idea that if you're guilty of the infraction you should pay the fine and not try to get out of a ticket or there's something wrong with you is the funniest thing I've ever read. It's a traffic violation, not a homicide conviction.

So somewhere of course the truth is in the middle. I wasnt there and there was some acceleration involved, but it's hardly worthy of some of the comments here. I'm glad you got out of the ticket.

Lol, I've owned my c63 for about 2 months. No tickets....yet...

It's pretty easy to make the tires squeal off the jump so I'm not sure why the other people two years ago were making a fuss that you deserved it ..

step on it a lil heavier than usual, tire will squeal. keepin' your foot on the pedal, youre doin it on purpose. i would have done the same as the OP. its not the 100 dollars. its knowing you didnt do anything wrong. period.
