Steering went completely STIFF.. Nothing wrong?
I posted last week that after taking a hard turn, (traction off and wheels were spinning) my rear came sliding out, I steered it back into position and came to a halt. The engine never shut off or nothing of that nature (no warning lights).
Upon coming to a halt, my steering went completely stiff for a good 2- 3 minutes.
I rolled off or idled to the side of the road, shut the car off, and waited a few minutes. After I started it back up, I drove home really slowly and left it in the garage...
So, I took it to MB service on Wednesday. The SA called me on Thursday and said 2 techs checked out all fluids, pumps, and everything they could think of along with a 7 mile road test. NOTHING.
Finally, just to be on the safe side, the SA had the shop foreman have another look at it, and he couldn't find anything wrong with it either??
I picked it up this afternoon and didn't feel anything wrong either...
I just find it really weird that the steering went totally stiff for that brief moment, but nothing is wrong now. I guess it was a glitch? I am also a little concerned that it might just lock up out of nowhere while I'm driving...
Is that even possible? I just thought I'd out this out there in hopes that someone else has experienced this...
It's a 2012 C63 sedan with 1160 miles on it.
Thanks and good wknd to all..
Were you doing burnouts or donuts?
Also, did they cover it under warranty? I would hope so..
Thanks for the reply.
I suspect the PS fluid overheated for some reason. Depends on what you were doing prior to your stunt. I would suggest changing the PS fluid in case it's contaminated.

I guess I can find that in the manual? Is there a thread on here?
