2012 Front Grille for 2008-2011 model

Hello to all, I just bought a second hand C63, which I'm absolutely loving might I add, and want to do a few bits to it.

One thing that I want to change is the front grille, I want to stick in the new 2012 style 1 fin one.

I'm wondering whether anyone knows where apart from 55tech.com you can get one? Idealistically, would like to get one from a MB dealer if anyone has the part number.

.
The one from 55tech probably won't fit the C63.

with some small modifications, some of our members are able to convert an oem 2012 one to fit a prefacelift c63

55Tech have told me their offering will fit though I would prefer an OEM part.

Does anyone know how to get the OEM part from MB?

Insightful stuff.

Called MB in one of their London branches and the grill is £420, not cheap but would rather spend it on an official one. Will report back when i've got it.

just checked out the 55tech site.

on this page http://www.55tech.com/index.php?main...roducts_id=472
and on the 4th picture (one with the car) ... it looks like the top part doesnt fit perfectly and the gap is substanially larger there than anywhere else.

Very sure 2012 grill won't fit 2008/11 model. You can do some modification but still not 100% fit. That's why I got a new 2012 grill sitting there and the old grill is still on my car! You need to accept those " no 100% fit" then move forward! ^_^

FWIW that is not a C63 in that picture.

That grill will definitely not fit because the hood on the regular w204 is different than a C63 hood. The regular hood doesn't dip down as low therefore has a larger grill opening

It would be very hard to modify that grill to work because of the chrome surround ring

I had to mod mine but mine does not have the chrome ring around it which made it easier to trim

Just get the factory grill made for the 2012 C63. No hassles

Umm, I'm starting to believe this mantra.

On this basis, I feel I should probably just buy the cheaper one, if it doesn't fit then just chuck it.

Check out this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...-progress.html

I believe it is as c63fan said, it can be modified to fit, but maybe not 100%. That being said, lyycas car looks sweet.
