This and that.
Guys...I need help!

So I just ordered and received my CF mirrors. I have the one's here

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/121137974525?...84.m1497.l2649

My understanding was that all I need to do is put double sided tape on them and that should be good enough. I am reading some of the things here that are talking about screwing this and that so I am really confused now.

Can anyone help me with this? I tried the tape method and the thin middle parts that are between the LED lights won't stick to the mirror for some reason. As if the tape's adhesive isn't strong enough. And there's a groove in the mirror cover that I don't think allows the tape to make full contact with the actual mirror.

Some tips for install would be great as it's just sitting there half stuck and half un-stuck on the mirror!

No one has any ideas or suggestions for me!?! I thought tons of people had this mod...if someone has any ideas please help me!

Maybe I just need a stronger double sided tape....I don't know. If that's the case perhaps someone can point me towards the strongest one I can get....help.

I have looked into those carbon fiber Mirror alternatives also. You have to make sure to clean the surfaces very well with rubbing alcohol at least 70 to 90% to take off all the oils. After you've done this there's a special tape from 3M called 3M auto body tape that specifically use for taping car parts. It's a double-sided tape that holds up to equivalent of 10 pounds. You can find this tape online from 3M. When you apply the tape tape the areas that are pointed and narrow. Place the double-sided tape on these areas.

You can use a hair dryer on high heat to get the glues from the tape to release. After you glued each prong with the 3M double-sided tape you have to let the tape cure for about a day.

Remember the most important thing is to clean the surface of the mirror very well with 70 or 90% rubbing alcohol to remove any oils or any deposits so the double-sided tape can stick.

The first thing you should know after doing your research is that such mirror covers are crap and look cheap. You should look into getting full CF housings but they are much more expensive.
Another member here posted his expeirences with these mirror covers:

^^^Absolutely correct. I am strictly advising you how to tape onto a car as I have recently changed my spoiler, side vents etc. Olszwala is correct, they do not look professional, albeit a much cheaper alternative.

****...wish I had looked into that before spending $150 on it.

Now that I have them and can't do anything with them I might as well use them I guess? Can anyone post a link to the extra strength 3M tape that would work?

Thanks

I personally think no 3M tape will work because the extra stregnth ones are thick.
And this won't look good.

I don't want to ruin the mirrors though. There's 3M protection on it maybe that's the reason 3M won't stick. I think I just wasted $150 and have two junk pieces lying around taking up space.
