CF Mirror Covers Installation

The ones I bought came with 3M tape...installed it with this and it created a gap the thickness of the tape and threw off the fitment. still looks good from a distance, but you will see these imperfections everytime you look in your side mirrors...really bugged me after only 1 day. had them removed and decided on a more permanent solution....epoxy'd them on with the water resistant pvc pipe sealant putty. I think normal epoxy would work good as well, just have to be careful as it is more of a gel and could drip down if you put too much (or squueze/ooze out the sides if you compress it too hard). I am sure there are a million other glues/cements that are as good or better to use as well. The only problem ith the pvc epoxy is that it dries into a white cement, so you have to be very careful with it. I taped everything down with the blue masking tape used for painting...still created residue when taken off, but easily removed with lighter fluid. FItment without the double sided tape is essentially perfect.

Lastly, if you have a light colored car, the inside/edges of your mirrors will obviously have a sharp contrast to the CF covers. I had mine painted black (prior to installation of the cf covers of course) through the MB dealership bumper repair guy for around $75.
