doesn't look like a valid US vin

is it a European wagon?

Hey All, I am very new to this Forum and its great to be a part of the Merc community, and Hey Balthaser, just noticed you can decode the VIN numbers, I am in urgent need of finding the details about my S500 L, would you be kind enough to find that out for me on urgent basis,

I can see that Balthasar is expert in decoding VIN. I was not able to manage that myself....newbee...

No I'm no expert. I was helped by other members here before. There was a VIN thread in which how to access EPC database is introduced.

btw, the EPC database we in the US can access seems to be limited to NA models only. So the search of the two VINs above comes back in vain. Sorry guys.

Hi you all, I am new on this forum and ai am also in need of having this VIN decoded:WDB2201841 A 472027 1. Seller claims mfg year to be 2005, by this VIN (10th digit) it is 2001. Anyone can help? The EPC is the best resource for finding out what is installed on your vehicle. If someone has a problem with the epc, you can always go to a dealer parts department. They can pull up your data card off the epc and print it out for you.
