Where can I buy a C63 AMG Black Series? Am I to believe all the Internet hype?

If I read online, makes it seem that all the BS cars were already spoken for, very limited numbers, impossible to get, pay over MSRP, etc. Not willing to do that, but am very interested in buying/ordering at MSRP or picking up a lightly used one from an enthusiast owner. I do need the back seat, which is why I planned to order. Excited about this car as a unique alternative with a back seat vs. 911 turbos, which I see everywhere. Thanks for any info.

I wouldn't order it with a backseat. Just get a different AMG. The ride would be too harsh for a nuclear family.

Seeing as we're already in June, I'm not sure if placing a new order is still an option this late in the year for the US allocations. You'd have to ask your dealer, but I think your best bet is contacting every dealer and private seller that is advertising online and make sure they know your intentions. At least you already know they have one available, and they'll know you want one. They'll probably still want 5 or 10k over MSRP, but if you stand your ground, they'll fold. That's how I got mine, and didn't pay a penny over MSRP. Mine was the second BS to arrive to the states, and the original buyer backed out of the deal. His loss, my gain.

I agree that dealers are no longer taking orders. I believe the last of the cars will be arriving in the next several weeks (and most of these have the aero package).

I was there when this one came in and I inquired about it and they told me it was for a customer that ordered it. I came in the next day to pick up my car and noticed it gone. The sales rep told me the owner came and picked it up. The next day I saw it on carsdotcom listed by them. Maybe there just using it as fishing advertisement?

Thanks for the advice. So sounds like if I am going to buy one, need to find one in the open market right now. So far I have only seen one.

Re: backseat, dont plan on taking this for long family trips, but I have two young boys and them coming along for the occasional joy ride is a requirement.

thanks again

Personally, I would still click the backseat option to make it more practical. Moreover, I think resale of it will be slightly easier.

Go buy a slightly used CLK63BS. It's a better car for a whole lot less money.

No backseat. That is the reason I haven't bought one before. Same thing with 997 GT3/RS. For Porsche, the 911 turbo works. For AMG BS, now with the backseat option, I think a more usable, but rarer and more unique option.

I saw this one on Autotrader, black and no aero package. A little expensive though...

I see your point with the C63BS. The back seat in all 911 variant is pretty much useless (I've taken them out on all the Porsche I've owned). Wonder if you could retro fit a back seat from a regular CLK into a CLK63BS.

How does this guy get a hand on two BS and tries to sell both at a markup? I hope they sit for so long and he sells it at under the mrsp or however much he bought it for.

also,
1) One of the few Diamond White C63 Black Series Car on the entire East Coast.

3) Of the 70 remaining cars, 70% of those will be black in color.

4) Assuming that the rest of the colors are ordered evenly (red, yellow, silver, matte silver, matte black & white), this might be one of 4 white cars in the entire nation.

wtf. I feel like this is BS

Yes, I am aware of those cars, and the mark-ups. May be my only options, but trying to see if there are others out there... Not so interested in spending $130k+ for a car that is already $117k, etc.

Not only that, it comes standard with the backseat (2+2 config) and ordering it without is a no-cost option, but an option nonetheless. (Per the ordering guide I'm staring at.)

Oh and of all the ones out there, none of them match what I'm looking for.

None of the ones available come with the Aero Pkg (B26). My preferred spec is: Track Pkg (B25), Aero Pkg + Exterior CF (B26+773), AMG Performance Media (255).

Including the two massively overpriced ones at Platinum Leasing, none of them have more than one of the pkgs listed above. *sigh*

Seriously, contact them anyway. All these overpriced sellers are gambling right now. We're already half way through the year. The longer they hold on to these cars, the more nervous they become. Eventually they'll sell at MSRP just so they don't risk losing money. The truth is that most people have no idea what this car is, or that it even exists, outside of the enthusiast community.

that is exactly right. People tend to forget that the enthusiast community is actually a very small percentage of the whole population. These cars cater to a really small niche market.
