This thing looks really cool, and according to the article we will get it the first quarter of next year.

I was kinda a little disappointed to see this, I think it kinda cheapens the brand. For example, when I got my C63, a dude that I knew saw it who knows nothing about cars but he said 'oh **** it's an AMG, I know what that means'.
Even if you own an SLS you can still respect the cheapest AMG as it has a mean NA V8 in it. Not happy, Jan.

I'm not sure I understand your example. Are you saying your friend knew it was a fast car, or that a c63 isn't cheap? Or you can't respect it cause it doesn't have a V8? I'm so lost. This A45 is not going to be cheap (50,000 euros or 62,000 USD/AUD), so 30-40 year old people will be targeted. If I saw an A45 AMG on the road I would say "Oh **** that's a sick AMG." If anyone likes cars they would think this thing is bada55. 340 hp coming from a 2.0 4 cylinder sent to all four wheels by a dual clutch transmission made by HPE is just insane! Mercedes says 0-62 in 4.9 sec and there number is always conservative. you can boost the turbo and put up a fight with M3's all day.This thing is going to be a monster. It's like a BMW 1M series or Audi RS3 nothing cheap about those cars.

As per the Formula 1 medical car... Yes they make a wagon variant of the C63 for overseas markets.

I think the A45 sounds sensational.
We've had nothing to do with AMG until we bought our new C63 this year, but the "ownership experience" that comes with owning an AMG designed/engineered car is growing on us every day, as we learn to appreciate what fine vehicles these cars are.
AMG are VERY particular about what they do, about maintaining their image/standards/engineering & PERFORMANCE, as a driver's car, & I'm absolutely certain that the A45 will embrace all of this, as well as perhaps being more of a volume seller than some of the larger, more expensive models.
Wifey is VERY keen.

As much as I like to see a zoom zoom version of every model MB makes, I think that there are some models that should go without an AMG version.

This car looks really cool. It's got DCT, AWD, and a nice turbo motor. I'm sure this car will be fun to mod and drive hard.
As far as AMG hurting it's image with this car, I just don't see how anything can be as bad as MB/AMG offering one of the words ugliest vehicles -- MB R-class -- in an AMG 63 package.
