Hey guys
I read a thread a month or so back about o2 sensor's and race fuel and how it can make them go all
. that same thread had a fix to the issue with some kind of upgraded heavy duty sensors if i remember right. im having this issue and keep getting a check engine light.
can anyone point me to the thread or let me know how i can solve this.
Peace!

What type of Race Fuel are you using? If you are using Q16, then original or upgraded O2 sensors wont matter. They will eventually get damaged bro, maybe the upgraded will last longer.
Q16 is leaded fuel which will damage your catalytic converters and O2 sensors. The best option is to use MS109 which is unleaded and will provide you with good power gains and run your engine safe!

I honestly have no clue what type of race fuel we were using. I just know that I keep getting check engine the past few weeks and its driving me nuts. i dont plan on using race fuel again and i just want a fix to the issue.Originally Posted by jacob502

MBWorld Fanatic!
Run Shell racing fuel, 105 octane, no lead, no ethonal. It wont hurt your O2s. I use it all the time.

If the fuel has lead or a high toluene content it will cause problems. Toluene is very cheap and a lot of home brew companies use it to make race fuel.

It is most likely leaded fuel. Ask them what type of fuel was it. In Kuwait you guys always use Q16. Originally Posted by theturkster

Anyhow, MS109 will be safe for your engine and you will gain HP/TQ

The oxygen content of the MS109 will not affect the running of the car as the DME targets AFR. It will compensate for the extra oxygen on the lambda side of things.Originally Posted by jacob502
