I'm inspired by the C63BS, I'm not inspired by the Viper (yet). That may change in the future, but for now, I want a C63BS. I'm a die hard AMG fan; not quite a die hard SRT / Viper fan yet. ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
It's only not just purely about performance (if it was, I'd simply get a GT-R -- an incredible beast, in its own right).

I have never been a Corvette fan, but maybe the redesigned ZR1 will be worth considering?

Yup, I'm with you on not paying over MSRP. In fact, it's against Corp (for example, MBUSA) policies to do that. Granted, many dealers do it, and get away with it. :\
Nevertheless, this is my obsession right now, and I am not ashamed.

Dont be, Im not- the CBS is my 7th AMG and its the best of the lot no doubt... Its not the fastest in a straightline but its the best to drive IMHO of what Ive owned. The steering, chassis response, suspension, ability to drive to the limits makes it worth while.

Thanks for checking.
And yup, that's what MBUSA just said moments ago in an email to me. My escalation to Stephen Cannon made traction, I was very impressed that he took action internally. Unfortunately, the end result was that the US is getting the small number of cars we already knew we were getting, and Germany's not unleashing any more upon us. All cars have been allocated to dealers. I'm certain they'd like to help more, but there's no more they can do at this stage.
Anyway, still looking. I've got a couple backup deposits down, but they're just that... backup deposits (one of them is a third position deposit). :\

Hold your chin up---- when I actually stopped looking for my car, it just popped up and it had an initial orderer who cancelled and 2 subsequent buyers and both of those deals fell thru. What I did was I kept checking and persistency was key. Then it became mine and there was world peace and cats and dogs danced together.

I'm still asking around, calling, emailing, so I'm definitely not slowing down this effort. Hopefully, within the next couple months, I'll be driving a C63BS.

Funny, the GTS is/was my key competitor to the C63 BS. For some of us, we need/want the back seat. GT3/RS would be my first choice all day long if it had a back seat. GTS not the same, but approximates the experience. For me, the 997tt is probably the most capable all around super car for the best price, but it's just not special. I see them everywhere. Something about having a car that is a bit more unique is important to me.

I love GT3's, and they're priced nicely used, similar to the CBS. But even with my 911 Turbo, the back seats were being outgrown by the 4 going on 5 year old, and can't carry anything. That gets tiring. The CBS has huge backseats that fits 6' adults easily, and can carry tons of stuff in the trunk. I drive it everywhere. I've put more km's on the CBS in 4 months than I did in the 911 Turbo in a year.

I really wish I had access to NetStar.
I've been having a couple sales guys search for me to find already spoken for allocations so that I can get myself into backup position on incoming cars that fit my color requirements (that's my only real restriction, at this point, as I've given up on being super picky with options -- just gotta have the P98). They're all useless.![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
If they would just send me a list of all the dealers that have 2013 allocs, I'd do the leg work myself. But they refuse to do so. *sigh*

Also, another issue I've been facing is dealers saying "Yes! I have someone who just backed out of a deal, the car is available, are you interested?" after I make it extremely explicit that it must be a C63 Black Series *with* the P98 Black Series pkg... Only to find out just as I am about to put down a deposit that it's a Black C63 AMG Coupe.

Just a quick update on my efforts along with Stephen Cannon and MBUSA... We have been unsuccessful. Cannot convince AMG Germany to produce more cars, and cannot do anything with allocations because once they're allocated to dealers (and all US cars have been for some time now), franchise laws kick in and MBUSA can't dictate how they are consumed.
Still trying everything I can to get my hands on a BS.

Well at least you're turned over every rock within your control. Now it's just a waiting game to see if anyone backs out or falls through on their allocation. Good luck!

I believe if you're patient, a car will turn up....mightn't be a "NEW" one, but the odds are that it wouldn't have many miles on it.
Depending upon how long you have to, or are prepared to, wait, wouldn't there be a chance that the price would come down. I mean, has there ever been an AMG that has not shown depreciation?
Maybe, as you have the dollars, & are just waiting for the right car, it will be quite exciting being able to pick & choose as cars come up....as I'm sure they will.......just another way for you to look at things I hope.
Cheers, Pickles.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Pickles. ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Still, hoping for some luck between now and Oct/Nov (when all cars are built and delivered). I shall continue to push dealers as hard as I can.
