Hi guys
some advice please . i went to the drag strip for the first time on a fun day last weekend . I really struggled for traction . i tried esp on ,sport and manged to get off the line but as usual engine was cutting off as i was spinning so times were really bad . I then after some advice tried esp off but just spun on the line and could not get a run .
i was then running on 265/3019 pilot sport cups .
some say i should get 17 inch rims for rear and put some hoosier drag radials on . i can get a oz rim allagerita who claim it is lightweight but is an 8j , would i be able to fit a 275/40/17 hoosier on this .
some advice from you professionals. i am from south africa so some stuff not available this side.

Get a set of custom forgeline 17x9.5 to go with the hoosier 275s. That's what I ran last year.

I think you can go direct to forgeline on their website...or if you have to order from USA, contact ACG San Diego.Originally Posted by c63amgpower

IF I remember correctly, the rim and hoosier together weighed about 41 lbs. I think the tire was about 22 lbs, so the rim about 19 lbs. About as light as you will get while still having enough strength for safety/reliability.Originally Posted by c63amgpower
