Any C63 owners with a factory backup camera want to help me out?
I am in the process of buying parts to retro fit the oem camera, since no one does this there is little information... I have been looking at the EPC and WIS but its complicated and since no one has done this we don't exactly know what we need to order.
What I need from a c63 owner is to locate some of the key parts in the car so I can install mine the same.
Basically There are two parts I am wondering about one is the Voltage Regulator which according to the EPC looks like It by the first aid and amplifier on the left hand side of the trunk.
The voltage regulator for the camera is part A164 543 00 62 if someone could find this in there car and take a picture of its location that would help me tremendously. Its part 140 in the diagram provided I can take a picture of the actual box I have it and its quite small
The second part I am having an issue with is the camera controller part 215 in the diagram we are not even sure if its necessary to have it might be related to parktronic . It is located under the trunk carpet next to the Sirius satellite radio, and is easily accessible should take you 10 min to check it for me and reassemble everything there is 2 40 torex screws hidden under the trunk carpet near the back seats... easy access is to put the back seats down and lift the carpet. There will be a cargo hook with a 40 torex just take that out and you can access the area which has the camera controller and sat radio box.
If someone could help me out locating these two boxes and taking a picture of how they are mounted this would help me out alot. Also if you could write down any wire parts numbers connected to either of these two boxes I
would help me located them.

Hey Andrew,
So I thought I'd at least add some content instead of letting the page views grow.
I have a factory installed camera, but I'm completely slammed until at least Sunday though.
If no one else hasn't anything up by then I'll grab the screwdriver and take a few pics for you.
If you've got any better dis-assembly instructions or a helpful guide, that'd be great. I haven't gotten to taking apart anything in the car in the few months I've owned it.
Anyway, good luck, and hopefully we can get what you need soon.

OEM camera is a different story all together, not even the dealer is sure what I need or how it can be done... FYI I am doing it on a 2008 C63 it was never option till 2010 and could only be factory ordered not retrofitted.

dude you a lifesaver I'm going to pm you. Can you email me them I have that voltage modulator and there looks like there is no separate controller it looks like that box that goes beside the Sirius is for japan only.
You wouldn't have happened to notice if any of the wires going to 164 543 00 62 had a parts number on them ?

OK, I understand well. I had not looked that close. I am a fanatic for using factory parts as well. I gave up on the idea myself because, although I could use the factory camera and wiring for the newer CLC, my old COMAND 2.0 couldn't be made to recognize and swap to the video when I went in reverse.

There is only one connection to the camera... if you pm me your email ill send you instructions on how to remove the trunk liner so you can have a look.
From the sounds of it when you close the trunk lid it moves something either internally within the camera or the connection might be loose.

Ok I have hit a snag... got the camera wiring for the camera and voltage converter installed.
I have the last wiring harness to install but I am having trouble finding the information I need to do it.
I have a fuse box assembly that is green with a red and black wire going to it? I am guessing this goes in one of the fuseboxes but which one ?
I have a brown ground wire with a ring connector which goes to a ground point... not sure which one.
I have a black connector that's similar to the tail light connectors which I assume activates the camera when the car is in reverse but not sure about that either.
The other two wires I know what they are for and where they go...
Other issues is do the route thru the headliner or the floor ???

you dont need every one of those wireing harnesses but i thought i would list them all because you didn't give me a vin to find what works specifically with your car... don't go using parts from other cars Mercedes Benz makes all the parts for each specific car.

Look I am more then happy to help people out but to list that stuff for trojan it took me about 2 hours because I didn't have a vin and had to guess about things in his car.
If you want to know all I ask is for a vin number so I don't have to list 25 part numbers of which only one is useful for your car.
So pm me a vin and I'll post the parts numbers

Generic parts numbers for C63 Sedan
Camera A2048200797 Replaced by A2048206097
Reversing camera modulator A1645430062
Rearview camera wireing harness A2044403451
A2044403551
A2044403651
There are two harnesses needed one goes from the camera to the voltage controller and then from there up to the command.
