Ive gone to the DARK SIDE- F10 M5 Pics and dyno info inside
My C63 brothers---- I almost always come here with a post prior to what I get so I can get some tangible input. I have let you down; I didnt ask for any input and I have gone rogue. I have gone to the M side but in no way would I ever get rid of the C63 BS so I figured Id show you some pics and the dynos I did on the car yesterday.
I love to change cars and Ive always been an AMG AND M Division fan. So I went out and got this M5. Ill tell you this from ownership- its a very very fast stock car. Does it beat a tuned M157? (Im comparing it the CLS63TT) No. It almost feels like an M157 PP car with a mini tune. Does it drive better? Yes IMHO. I love the steering, suspension, throttle response, shift modes, DCT transmission, etc. Im partial to the interior of the M too; it just feels more luxurious. The options such as HUD and M Buttons along with soft close doors and large nav screens make it a nice acquisition. The car does lack huge sound (and no I cant hear the speaker exhaust LOL) so I added the Eisenmann which did the trick.
Is it better than my M157 AMG's? Yes and No- it has its advantages. But the beauty of what I like to do is that I can try cars out- enjoy them and then move on. Im sure Ill do the same with the M5 but for now its my 4 door car of choice. I just got it dyno'd yesterday and have attached some pics and some shout outs as well.
Its no AMG and its not meant to be. I have had 7 AMG's and this is my 5th M. Both cars serve their purposes for me.
Some minor mods:
Alpine white front bumper reflectors (IND)
Black Front Kidney Grilles
Side Badges in gloss black (IND)
Rear Black Emblem (IND)
Eisenmann Race Axle back only (Vivid via IND)
H&R Springs (Serge Benzworks)
Vinyl Roof and Door Handles in gloss black (GraphFX)
BMW Carbon Fiber Performance Spoiler (Serge Benzworks)
Coding (thanks to Niko1414 at M Post)
Dyno and Pics (EAS)
FYI- the dyno graphs are mis labeled- I do NOT have a center/mid pipe just the axle back exhaust which yields no proven hp or tq just sound! Dynojet dynos tend to read a little higher but my M5 has dyno'd the highest of any of the stock ones EAS has done thus far. Maybe its my secret break in procedure LOL.

LOL No chance, HRE's should be ready this week. And the only stock wheels Ive kept in over 15 cars is the C63 BS.

Thanks guys for the congrats.
The ride quality is very good even with the H&R springs--- not too bouncy and not too soft. The car has that typical BMW type of feel if you know what I mean: a very planted feel at higher speeds but yet a relatively nimble feel as well for a big pig in slower sharp turns.
The CLS has the PP shocks so its actually stiffer on bumps that I dont notice as much in the M5.

my wife bananas! :D
Great pickup. As a huge mb fan, it's sad to say but if I was shopping for a car in that size category, I would go m5 over the e63. BMW did a fantastic job with this version

I think there are a few tunes out across the pond but it requires ecu removal. There should be OBDII tunes by the end of January. I know one retailer of parts and wheels that is pretty large nationwide is doing secondary beta testing next week where the claims are 60-70 hp and 100 tq...

Nice taste in cars, along with your choice in mods. Is always nice to read your comments on both the pros and cons.
It's like reading a car and driver article. LOL
