Okay, so i was just coming back home from a friends house. I was on an empty Highway without a single car, and 2 miles of straight road. What do i do? SMASH THE PEDDLE. After i hit 173 all i hear is a big smash, thought my tire popped. Stopped, looked at my tires, nothing. Later realized it was my front lip that flew off and i completely ran over it going 170. Went back to see if it was there...Gone

Anyways, this gives me an excuse to buy a new one! Anyone have any opinions which would look good on my Barolo red c63?

Edit: i had the MCDmotorsports front cf lip. Resembles the mode carbon one.

LOL I lost my rear diffuser on the highway too!

vorstiener front lip ftw. I want to replace mine with vorstiener too but for 2012 models their prices are too crazy for me haha

Hmm, I thought the mcd was mode carbon debut, which was mode carbon. I guess I am wrong? Talk about trademark infringement. Lol.

Ahaha, beats me! But i recall MCDmotorsports being available before MC was around. Too bad they closed, they were good to deal with.

Wow, you ran over your front lip at 173MPH? Consider yourself lucky you didnt get into a bigger accident, like a flat tire or smthin. That is scary speed to do on the freeway & not much margin for error.

Well, enough with the lecture.. I think the Arkym frot lip will look good on your car, the Vorsteiner only look good on black or darker cars.

to the OP.. how did you install the lip? did you just used a double tape? or screw?

The second i heard the noise, i prayed. Its a 8 lane 3 mile straight. There wasnt any cars so i couldnt resist! It was scary honestly. Does anyone know how much a cr akrym lip goes for?

Installed with one screw and ds tape.

And this is why it's Your fault that the lip flew off.

The instructions You get is to use strong glue and at least 6 screws.
I used 8 screws and no glue because I wanted to be able to replace the front lip if I ever break it.
I've done 180mph runs with the lip on and it's still on.

Damn I need my rear spoiler to fly off. It's the $150 cheap stuff from Taiwan and I want to replace it with something better a long time ago but it just sticks so well. Maybe I should start looking for some more empty highways now.

I mean, the instructions said no bolts needed as it came with 3m tape all over literally. Buying the akrym one once i get back from overseas!

Yeah spoilers never come off, ive replaced 3 and finally found one i like! The bootlid off ebay haha.

It's really up to the manufacturer to provide the proper mounting instructions. Outside of that, mine uses only tape. If I crack it, I'll likely need a new bumper anyway.
