Problem with Eurocharged MyGenius handheld programmer

Problem with Eurocharged MyGenius handheld programmer
Hi,
I received my handheld programmer yesterday, installed the software, updated the software, all went succesfull.
But now it needs a mandatory update and when I try to do that I get this error:
Device update temporarily not available [1495]
I can then still press start, when I do so I receive the following error:
Error with Genius[E010001]FTDI Error: Invalid handle [1427]
And after that:
Error while connecting to Genius
I have now tried on 4 different systems(3x windows 7 and 1 x windows xp) and all with the same result.
Eurocharged says it must be the DimSport server but my software is able to update from the dimsport server.
Can anyone else check if their device update is also not working?

Been in contact with eurocharged and dimsport and it seems thatvmy device is to old to be updated.. Nice to hear when you buy something brand new....
I now have to wait till next year before dimsport will develop a new softwsre version that will allow me to update from my very old version...
Not the best experience so far although the email contact is going good.

Hi charliekay unfortunatly we receive a different error which there isnt a fix for at the moment..
Dimsport is closed till januari 2nd so untill then nothing will be done to resolve our issue...

We are also waiting on a response from Dimsport regarding this fault. They are on Holidays until January 2nd. We are hoping to have a response soon.

I still dont understand why this gets posted here. Eurocharged has a phone number and an email and they are quick to reply. Kind of a **** and moan thing to take it public like this right away instead of going through normal channels.
They are a good company with good service. No need to publicize your issues in order to speed things up. They go as fast as they can anyways.

Actually, I did read the thread. My point is that there is a problem, Eurocharged is communicative and on top of it as always, and he knows it is out of their hands and will take a few days due to the unusual holiday timing.
I apologize if I misread the whole thing, but read his second post again and tell me be wasn't sniping about them.
Anyways, its really none of my GD business and if I posted anything it should have just been to say that getting started isn't without hiccups, but once the process is completely I'm sure he'll be satisfied with Eurocharged and their service and more than happy with his.
Peace and Goodwill to all. We are incredibly fortunate bunch to have these cars in our driveways on Christmas Eve, a night when so many have so little.
May tuning ours cars be our biggest worry in 2013!!!

Let me start by saying that it wasnt my intention to start a flame war againstveurocharged. I started this thread because I was curious if anyone else was having the same issues as me to call me down. If I was the only one having issues that would probably mean shipping the device back and waiting for a new one to arrive.
Its the first time ever I bought something this expensive outside of europe and that hasnt gone as planned and does frustrate me, but I am NOT blaming eurocharged for this. Clearly it is dimsport that make a mistake in their update mechanism and its extra frustrating that dimsport is closed for 1,5 weeks.
Again no hard feelings towards eurocharged and I am releaved that others have the same issue as I have so I am now confident that dimsport will fix the issue asap ones they are open again

It's built in Italian, not exactly a cutting edge country in sophisticated electronics. I think there last major contribution was the Marconi radio. The good news is you have a great tuner.

Just got a reply from the support department of DimSport that they are about to release a new version that will allow us to update. They will inform me directly when its available.

I will say that is kind of dumb that the EC tune does not come with one word of directions. I just received mine and it is out of date. Can I plug it into my car anyway or does it have to be updated before I can?
