Hmm? I can't burn out or my car can't?
Hi, guys.. it's been sooooooooooo long!!
How are you guys doing?
I have a simple and stupid question..
Yesterday.. I was gonna change my tire..
so before I change it I thought I should try burnout for fun.....
then..... I tried 'BURN OUT'..
Put the gear at M1 and turned off ESP..
Then put my feet on both brake and accelerator..
I heard that I should step on brake fully til rpm goes up to 3000 then release it once it hits point..
I tried.............
BUT...... I don't know what happened.. BUT.....
it doesn't go up that well.. going up about 2500 and falling down, over n over again..
and when I saw the rear wheel through the side mirror, it was rolling but not fast enough and stopped after a lil rolling..
I thought LSD got problem..
But it doesn't seem like it since I didn't even have 1 wheel burn out..
Yes.. It was my first trying..
I have thought what I only need to do was.. just put brake n accelerator at the same time and release brake pedal when rpm hits 3000.......
So Ive been thinking I could do burnout since I got this car.......
MORON ;(
Am I doing anything wrong?
Now Im sad since I can't do burnout with this monster.. ;(
So, my goal is doing burnout w/ my baby.. haha............
Can anybody help me?
Please, no laughing..

this isn't the 90s. computers have removed the ability to hold the brakes and do a burn out. they will limit the power and can also implement a rev limiter, which is what your issue sounds like. of course, this can all be removed with a knowledgeable tuner.

Dr. Q and I have been through this before if I recall...He is Korean and his English is not the best. Please bare with him, his intentions are well meant and he is serious in his posts....
ESP OFF
Foot brake off
S mode possible
Foot on break and gradual increase on accelerator up
Hear tires screetching and burn out for 30 seconds to 1 min
Burn out and slowly release brake
Good Luck Dr. Q...

However, that decade has no bearing on the '09 C63.
The most common issue is making sure the traction control is fully disengaged. My '13 will smoke the tires all day long, and my '09 could too.

YOu got 2 ESP mode on your car the 1st by olding the button 2 sec...
and the other that completely removes the esp by olding the button 5-10 sec
I'm not sure you able to do a burnout with the 1st esp mode
hummmmmm! burnout

like i said before, you cannot do a "brake stand" on todays cars, you must release the brake, and then it is a "rolling burnout" not a true stand still burnout as there is no way to hold the brakes at the same time unless you install a line loc or get a tune....
seems pretty easy to understand what the 90s comment applies to....the change in tech, process, and logic when it comes to automotive system calibration and control.....i tune cars, race nhra/ihra, have an 09 C63 and used to do brake stands all over town every chance I got in my 1984 camaro Z28, lol. what a turd that thing was, but man with 150 hp (and that was the V8) it would smoke the tires anywhere I wanted.....of course there was no computer telling it not to spin the tires when i was touching the brakes.
one certainly doesn't need an AMG to spin tires, all you need is any combo of a hard tire, smooth surface, cold weather, water, and a liberal engine management system (which the AMG don't got)...

I'm not sure about the 10+ model years, but as someone else said (and you can thank Toyota for this....) Modern engine logic (not human thinking, actual computer logic) now cuts the engine power when the brakes are applied while accelerating.
Again, I am not sure if MB is implementing this on their newer cars, or if it is left of the AMG model range on purpose, but the engine cutout when applying brakes is now a NHTSA requirement. This may only be for very recent model years (2012 to 2014.. not sure), but it may be earlier as well. Of course, if he is outside the US, all bets are off.

Higgs, I guess you are misinformed. The C63 will do a brake stand. You do not need a line loc. Just like others said, make sure you are really have ESC off meaning you need to hold it for about 5 seconds and see in your center console a message that says ESP OFF not ESP sport.
One it is off, hold your brake and press the accelerator until you hear and feel your rear tires spin. The C63 is a burnout king.
Do this and report back to us.

it is actually not designed to prevent burnouts, although it does by default, it is designed to prevent the engine from overpowering the brakes when you are slowing down. it has a functional safety application, it isn't meant to be a fun reducer.
