Calling all high mileage C63's
Hey All,
As we go further into the new year, my curiosity is spiked that we have now seen 5 years of this car. I'm very interested in hearing what year your C63 is, and how many miles you have on it. (More interested in the higher mileage ones).
And for those of you with high mileage, has anything needed to be replaced? Any costly repairs to speak of? Do you have mods?
Also please mention if you're in or out of warranty.
So far my 2010 is at 42,500 miles, and I've owned my car just a couple of months.

2009, 43,000 miles. Completely stock. Still in warranty.
Roof rails replaced because they were peeling. Rubber weather-strippings in engine bay were replaced because some were starting to come unglued. Burnt out tail light bulb replaced.
The only major repair was the infamous head-bolt issue. Replaced with new head-bolts and lifters. Covered under warranty.
Everything else is just regular wear and tear.

2009 w 47k....CPO. almost traded it this month for a 2013 but I decided I would wait for the M157 (hopefully) in the redesigned C63 and traded my jeep for a new jeep instead.
only issues with the C is had to replace the intake manifold gaskets. fairly common issue I think. only thing left are the head bolts so we will see what happens.

2017 Mini Cooper S Clubman ALL4 - British Racing Green
This is going to make some people cry....
2009 CPO with 80k miles on the clock, daily driven from MD to VA daily for 3 years (varies between 50 and 100 miles round trip per day depending on contract)
CPO warranty good till 2014 or 100k.. which is coming up fast :P
I have had a fair number of problems
* Both fuel pumps replaced
* Fuel rails replaced
* Air Intake Gasket failure and replacement
* Rear lights replaced (due to a fault in the design of the connector, which melted)
* Command Rotary knob failed and had to be replaced
* Rear Sunshade failed and had to be replaced (not sure when, I never used it till I had a baby, then of course it did not work)
The above items were repaired under warranty.
Issues I am still having and that the dealer does not seem to be able to either reproduce, or consider normal operation (I disagree with that last statement... but what can I do)
* slight vibration when idling, which feels something may be grinding while in motion.. vehicle feels like I am dragging something, but performance does not appear to have been affected (still pulls like a freight train). Thought it might be the transmission, had the fluid changed, no change in feel
* definite ticking on startup, goes away after warmup
* ticking during operation when I use the heat or the AC (I have not taken the car in for that yet, looks like the compressor clutch, or possibly pully on the AC compressor might be failing)
* The biggest worry I have, which I have not been able to reproduce, nor has the dealer, and has only happened three times in the last 6 months, but at the worst times (when making a left turn across traffic), is hitting the gas.. engine revs quick to redline, but the vehicle inches forward for a second (in direct path of oncoming traffic) then completely slips. I suspect the clutch pack, talk about scary..
Honestly, I still love this car.. but I have a bad feeling about it.. and will probably offload it once the warranty period is done if that is even possible (I still owe around 25k on it)

2009 just turned over 60,000 miles. It is my DD on my 100 mile round trip commute 2.5 days a week (I carpool, so other guy drives 1/2 the time).
Issues I've had.
1 foglight needed to be replaced
drivers side leather bolster was reconditioned and re-stained.
Intake gasket failure, replaced gaskets and intake bolts
All the above was done under warranty. My CPO runs out at either 100k or October 2013. I'm considering extending it or going aftermarket.
Other than that, just gas, oil, tires and smiles.

When I was doing my tune, I came across a C63 owner who has close to 300,000kms and was told it's the most abused 63 in the country. Other than a few ordinary minor wear and tear items, the car was like a bullet.

my wife bananas! :D
would be interesting to learn more about this car. Especially if it falls under the potential headbolt engines and if he/she had that problem.

Yep, he had 280,000kms on his 2010 C63 P31.
I know from the sound of it, it wasn't stock but just asked him a few questions, not what he had done but what mechanical issues he had. Other than ordinary services, he said one expense was around $2000 but can't remember what for.
Other than that, was completely fool proof.
Gave me some reassurance but I will never be relaxed knowing about the headbolt issue on the 2008.

It was a 2010 Fung and I don't believe that one falls under the headbolt issue? But other than what I said above after you posted your post, he said no issues at all. Was really happy when he said that.

Picked her up a year ago from Vivid Racing with all mods as is with 22k+ on the ODO
Just about to reach 46k miles, this is my DD
Purchased a Route 66 extended warranty 5yrs/100k miles

cracked COMAND dial
cracked plastic on both keys

I went with it because it was offered at the time of my financing through PenFed. At the time, it looked like a great warranty for the cost.

I was just reading through the route66 brochure on the penfed site and the list of excluded vehicles included 'Any Mercedes AMG'. I will find more about this coz I feel that the mbusa warranty is a bit too much. I will PM you for any details , dont want to hijack this thread :-)

2009 w/ 60,000 miles. Under warranty thru 10/14 or 75,000 miles. Only warranty work so far (1) replace the purge valve and (2) replace the intake manifold gasket. Runs excellent.
