What started out as 3-4 weeks has turned into 10 weeks and counting
I ordered a set of 19" Forgestar CF10s back at the end of January (January 25th to be exact). At that time I was told that Peter at Forgestar confirmed a 3-4 week leadtime since they already had the C63 sizes I wanted and just need to finish the wheels. Well I ordered so long ago because I have heard horror stories about Forgestar leadtimes and wanted the wheels for Spring here in Toronto. Well its been 10 weeks now and Im still waiting. Im not really upset Im just confused as to what could possibly be taking so long to get these wheels finished!
Maybe it is the custom finish I ordered? I ordered the "New" Black Graphite Finish....

Im excited about the colour! I couldn't find many pictures of it on the internet so Im a little nervous as to what it will actually look like in person.
Ps. Callmiro how come you aren't interested in the Ontario AMG Meet in June?

The colour will probably look similar to the factory GT-R wheel....dark carbon grey
I sold the C63 and the M3....looking for the next project

No, and I still dont have the wheels. The last update I got was that they were being powder coated Wednesday March 13th, Letting them cure the 14th and they would ship out Friday the 15th, or Monday March 18th. When I called (on Saturday) the Local shop here I ordered from (Allen @ SimplyTire) they told me that they were unsure why the wheels are still at the powder coater's and were going to inquire......
I know Allen will be on it and give me a good update. Im just curious as to why its taking so long from Forgestar's end. There have been other members who ordered the same size wheels in a different finish a little later than I did and they already arrived!

Yeah for some odd reason most of these dealers cant get them fast enough. I had an order with my CF10's through another vendor on here and got angry about waiting 4 weeks into it. I went to another site and read some wheel posts and threw up a "if anyone can get me these in 7 days or less I'll give you my money" and boom I got an instant message that day, and 5 business days later, my car was sitting on brand new CF10's. I think I overpaid by maybe 100 bucks... But im still happy

The new and custom finishes do take a bit longer. The powdercoating/finish stage has taken longer this year thus far than previous years. Forgestar is growing and still learning how to meet demand.
Like others said, stick it out and you'll forget all about the wait when you get your new wheels mounted. Please let me know if we can help in any way.

my wife bananas! :D
like I said on FB Sajun, definitely expect a long wait. Just need to be persistent and follow up. I wish the process was easier on us the customers but c'est la vie
he's rocking his QX these days btw. i can swing by to pick you up on the day of the meet if you still want to hang
Also miro, I'm in the same boat as you last year. but I'm looking at either the GL or QX. just test drove the new GL today... seemed ok

Somethings in life I just don't get.
In 3 weeks you can have a brand new, custom built car made for you. How the hell can it take 10 weeks for a set of rims. I don't get it. I simply don't understand. 5 days from start to finish including the final finish. WTF is 10 weeks!? If someone says 2-3 wks then make it that.

The guys at Iforge are all my buddies. I know their stuff gets backordered a lot which can be frustrating at times. Even for me when I got my wheels. I remember I waited for like 6 weeks or so. But it's cool. You'll get your wheels soon! Remember these Forgestars are coming from overseas in containers and delays may have been cause by Chinese New Year. I'm in the logistics business so I would know :P

Really not an apples to apples comparison.

Nah man cause building a set of rims or painting them takes longer than bulding a $70,000+ car.... insanity and foolishness + breaking the number one rule. Do NOT overpromise and under deliver. It's wheels, not a Bugatti. INSANITY
Idiots really Pi*S me off. No of course it's not apples to apples. Building wheels take a day (I know, I am in the wheel business) and building cars takes much longer so any fool trying to say building wheels takes 3 wks let alone 10 wks are just out right mentally challenged. Unless of course they're connected to the guys who gave false promises and lies. Hope that's not you.

SEMA, one of the machines was down, there was miscommunication between my body shop and HRE, and they mistakenly only made 1 instead of 2. Not sure if that was the body shop's fault or not. I'm not in a rush, but it's been several months.

Well I'm not in a hurry because my current wheels are still ok. There's just a little bit of wobbling because they've been abused by the roads out here. I'm going to make tables out of the new rims until the tires need replacing or until I can't stand the wheels anymore. Then I'll swap out the rims and make the damaged ones side tables

don't worry too much. 10 weeks is about how long i waited for my last set of DPE's. my personal assessment is that a lot of these wheel companies (not all i.e. HRE) just don't have the resources and/or experience to keep up with production demand. 50% of the time they're incompetent as well

My understanding was that the wheels are made in China.
They won't just ship a set. They wait till they have a container full then ship to Cali where he is located and then from Cali ships out to the customer.

^^ made in China? Is it only the raw material or the wheels are cut in China & ship to US for powdercoating/painting? If you are right, now I know why they dont cost too much.
