Subwoofer in spare tire compartment

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone has taken their spare tire out and placed a sub in this compartment?
I was thinking that since we are on run flats, the spare tire is kind of not necessary...
Without sacrificing trunk space for a sub, I was thinking this could be a good location.

Appreciate any feedback or ideas.

Cheers!

I did and had a custom made box. Was fantastic. Have the same for my CLS63

I installed a Boss Audio amplified sub on the underside of the rear package shelf in the trunk. Fabricated a couple of brackets and used self-tapping screws to mount it. The Boss is about 5 inches high so it does not take up much space. Pretty easy installation.

Always a good spot to put a sub so that you can still have space in the trunk when needed!

I installed two JL W7s in the trunk. I made a bandpass sub box firing through the arm rest. It hits crazy hard.

Cool, going to remove the spare today and measure it out!

How do you like the Boss Sub?

Cheers!

You're missing the point of the Boss Audio. It is low profile so you can mount it under the package shelf where it is out of the way. Personally, I would feel much more secure knowing I had a spare tire available.
Oh yeah, it does sound pretty good.
