So I'm buying a Black Series
Okay, I didn't think I would be buying one so soon, but a great deal came my way and I'm pulling the trigger. The car is out of state and I've never shipped a car before, does anyone have any tips? It makes me uneasy

Yeah, its coming from a dealer. I might just take a few days and fly to pick it up and drive her home. It would put a lot of miles on her, but it would be a fun road trip

From where to where? I picked my baby up from Phoenix and drove back to SF. We got really well aquatinted over 800 miles.
The dealer should have recommended transport companies they trust if you want to go that route.

The trip is about 800 miles as well, not too bad. I will speak to the dealership on Monday to figure it all out. Thanks for the help

First of all, congrats. Its a great car and you'll be surprised at the looks you get - mostly from people who know what the car is.
Second, I shipped mine from Houston to SF Bay Area... so here's some tips.
1. Know what your state laws are regarding smog and titling. The steps in Cali for cars under 7500 miles (which was mine at 4000) is I need to get the car smog certified (not checked) and then VIN inspected by the DMV. Then I take those things and get the car registered. Now out of state dealers vary, by my dealer in Houston included the CA DMV fees in the cost of the car so they handled stuff on their end. Meaning after I got the car, I got it smogged, VIN Inspected, sent Houston dealer those papers and they sent it to CA DMV. The CA DMV then sent them the license plates, which I got a month later.
2. I would drive it back if possible... I had a horror story with shipping. First - the dealer said the car was great when it went onto the truck. When I got the car, I didn't notice that the 1/2 pressure rear flat tire, until I started the car up and the pressure monitor said it was half pressure. I found out there was a leak in the right rear from a nail. The dealer said it was not flat and that it was due to the shipping company. They said no - they just loaded it on and off and it never left the truck. I ended up having to eat the cost of replacing the tires, which I was highly annoyed by. Given another chance, I would have saved the cost of 1k enclosed shipping - and just flown to Houston and driven 2 days back with the car. Plus, I would have known exactly the condition of the car.
3. If you do ship it, for schedule reasons - ship it with the best shipper possible. Next time, if I do ship, I will look around for the best place possible instead of going with what the dealer had wholesale rates for. Great car shipping companies will do it perfect each time - many guys I know ship their cars to various tuner shops to have them work on their cars. Can't recall the name right now - but theyv'e had a stellar reputation.
I hope this helps. I love my C63 Black and wouldn't trade it in for the world. Had I waited in Cali for a car, it would have not been the exact one I would have wanted, so I had to scour the States for one.

Drive it. 800 miles is an easy one day trip. I drove my BS 2700 miles from SoCal to Miami within 2 weeks of taking delivery. I stopped in AZ for the break-in service, and kept on my way. Awesome trip.

If you do end up shipping, I highly highly recommend JP Logistics. The CEO is awesome. Their service is awesome. And even if they have to contract it out to other carriers to accommodate schedules, they only use the best partners. I've shipped three cars with them.
They're also the preferred shipping partner of Audi USA, BMW USA, Bentley, and Bugatti of North America.
