The white stitching goes quite nice with my black/porcelain interior.

Also the 507 wheel is different, per the image below it is full alcantara with the same white stitching as the shift boot... plus the indicator band at the top for an extra 5hp.

Nah, I can swing the $350 for the shift knob but I'll bet the wheel is at least $1200 + a fair bit for install. I am however happy with the AMG door pins I put on last week.

you could recoup the cost of the wheel by selling yours. I'm sure there are people who'd like to upgrade to your steering wheel :P

I've been wanting to swap up my door pins for a while, just keep finding other things I want to buy lol.

I concur - with the black/porcelain seats the contrast stitching looks very sharp indeed!

Didn't realize the whole steering wheel on the 507 was alcantra - I thought it was just the inserts but with the indicator band like the BS. And, is it just my imagination or is the rim thickness in that interior picture at the top of the page a little smaller than the current cars (thinner steering wheel)?

May be out of stock locally but it is definitely available. Maybe try another dealer?

In case anyone was wondering, I got some pricing on additional pieces for the 507... and it is not pretty. The front grille is $790, the DRL surrounds (black vs chrome) are $136 each, and the 507 hood is $3200 (plus $80 x two for the hood vents). No price on the steering wheel yet but the estimate I was given is around $2000. Yikes.

The PN (for the steering wheel) I found, with the VIN posted earlier was A1724604603 9E38

over here, it costs about 1010 € VAT included, but they don't have it in stock in Germany. so currently not available. it can be ordered, but you wouldn't know when it will arrive...

Call your dealer and ask... the price is likely going to be the price, I don't see much room for discounting on an OEM part from Mercedes but I could be wrong.

Not sure where you are located but do you not have a local dealer you can call? Ask them for part #204-267-03-00-9G60.

No probs, got them from eBay. Link below, someone on this forum recommended the seller and they worked just fine for me.

Not in the least. I think it took me all of 5 minutes to do all 4... I didn't glue down the rears but so far they have been fine.

Pretty bummed. I just called my local Mercedes-Benz parts department and told me that part number is not specified

Call a different dealer, it is definitely in the MB system but maybe your dealership is lazy or something.

Called my good friend at a nearby dealership, he can get them, but they come from Germany with no direct ETA. I threw my money at it and just waiting on delivery...

I got one the other day from the dealer....
thank you for the part number btw.

I wanted to remove the boot though and put back the stock boot with red stitching. there is an old thread that shows how, but I don't think the shift knob/boot is the same as that thread. It looks like the boot is crimped into the shift knob.

can anyone help? can I remove the boot and replace it without destroying anything?

You can remove the leather boot from the knob without any problem. You just need to know what to do
Basically you need to remove the boot by pressing on the side towards the driver's side. Then you'll be able to see underneath the leather a plastic piece at the base of the knob. You need to turn it 1/8 clockwise and push it downwards. From that point you'll be able to lift upward the shift knob out of the metallic stick.
At the base of the knob there will be a second plastic piece with 4 tabs. You need to push these tabs inside the plastic circular piece in order to free up everything.

Let me know how it works out for you.
