i'm not sure if the one I got is different, but the 4 plastic prongs look like part of the whole assembly. they don't push in and through. it seems like the whole part is one piece.
I know you recently bought a 507 boot / knob. when you get it maybe you can put up picks of how to remove boot from knob. thanks.

I didn't install it yet but i was able to separate the boot from the knob. It is simple once you know what to do. The system is slightly different from my 09 MY. I'll try to post pics soon.
I don't know if the system is similar on the BS but if i want to keep my boot and install the knob only I will have to do some slight modifications.
edit: i forgot to mention thanks Andrew (zibby43) for the smooth deal. Packaging was top notch and it arrived quick

Yeah man I thought I was going to use the funds and put them toward some new wheels and tires but each time someone says they're going to buy my like-new OEM Continentals, the deal ultimately falls through.Originally Posted by abcut973
Really? lol!
Besides, every time I kept seeing this thread pop up I started to get seller's remorse for parting with mine.
Still haven't installed it yet though. Would like to see a DIY video before I try it as I still have some questions about the procedure.
Cost me $270+ (taxes included) from the dealer.

It'd be nice if I can get it with red stitching to match the interior. For that price I/d be all over it.

He's got access to some cool OEM parts for sure.
You can get it cheaper from the dealer though.
This guy is marking them up by $50.

I am currently trying to get that fancy Shift knob and boot from a Mercedes dealer in the US. Needless to say they wont ship to Australia so since I have a friend in the US I decided to purchase the item and ship it to him. As part of the purchase there is a box that asks for the VIN to check that the part fits. Since I am in Australia I assumed that an Aussie W204 C63 AMG VIN would likely show up as not valid so I ignored that field.
I got an email from them asking me to provide the VIN in the order so I replied indicating that I have done my research and know that this item will fit the car it is intended for and said, "Would you please ship the item to the person at the address indicated".
I hope they don't continue to insist on a VIN.
(edit)
The good thing is that I just found a whole swag of US VIN's from cars that are for sale over there so I should be able to satisfy that requirement.
