C63 Turbine like noise
Hey guys I hope all is well...I just picked up a 2009 C63 w/PP with 42,000KM on it...It's a monster I love it...I'm not sure if it's always been there because most of the time I'm knee deep in the gas pedal but I noticed the last few days theres kind of a turbine like noise coming from around the driver side/front of the car..it almost sounds like it's coming from that oil filter like spot by the Benz badge on the plastic..is it normal or did I blow something up? the loudness has stayed consistant and you can't really hear it unless i open the hood..It's not there when the car is cold but after I'm out ripping it then it's there once it's heated up..I'm going to take it in tomorrow to the dealership to see if it's anything but the car still runs the same/fine..no warnings or anything.

Don't have my car with me at the moment, but I think mine does the same thing. I never gave it much thought bc I like the superchargeresque sound of it. Uh oh, does that make me a poseur? Lol.

No idea..I've only had the car for a week..does yours sound like that? Could be..I try and not punch it at every light but sometimes my foot slips

No if I give it some throttle it stays. It might be fans but IDK the sound isn't there when the car is <80C but the second 80C hits whatever is it turns on and that sound comes.

sounds like the whistling noise from the crankcase ventilation hoses. i want to say there is a bulletin on it. nothing major just a hose gets vacuum pulled so hard on it, it collapses and makes that noise.

Ok...it sounds like nothing major It usually isn't there until the car is warmed up which I'm assuming is because some fans turn on and such once it's warmed up, I'll keep you guys updated on what the dealership says..hopefully it's a easy quick fix.

2010 C63 AMG
If it sounds very unusual, take it somewhere for a second opinion. AMG or not, it should sound like a normal engine. It's hard to tell if there is an issue from the video.

Any mechanic? IMO it doesn't sound like it's F'ed up but it sounds like something is working..like I said IDK if it's always been there because I wasn't under the hood once the car heated up when I bought it. Just booked it with one in my city..I doubt anything is wrong but always safe to double check.

Anyways go get yours checked..might be the same thing.
Just don't get why if it's just the tumble flaps then why the entire manifold needs to be replaced?

now that i remember, i had the same exact issue, but it was under warranty. i would check an indie shop. at a minimum, the labor will be less.

The part price is about right though? $3500? Mine isn't under warranty but luckily the cost isn't going to hurt just have to put in some more hours at the office

i honestly don't remember what the cost would have been, and also don't quite remember them having to replace the whole piece, although that does sound vaguely familiar ...

Damn that sucks! Mine is under warranty so i ll go and get it checked out. The noise seems to be coming only when the engine is warm. I guess it's time to flash back to stock and visit the dealership. Wish me luck!

Yeah that's exactly like mine, it's the tumble flaps or something, I'm guessing they change angle when the car is warmed up who knows..lets hope it fixes the issue, should be getting it fixed in the next few weeks. I'll post a update once it's fixed..keep us updated on yours hopefully it's nothing like mine.
