New Tire Installed...help!
Hey all,
About a month ago, I decided to go with Continental DWS tires. I got them ordered from Tire Rack and installed them. Fast forward a month, my passenger side front tire keeps losing air. I would fill it up to 40psi and leave it in the garage. 24 hours later, it would be at 12psi. I took it to a tire shop and they lifted the car and sprayed the tire to look for bubbles. They did not see any air leaks or see any nails or anything in the tire.
I'm at a lost. The tire keeps losing air and they can't seem to find any issues with it. I love the tires and ride. If there was an issue with the install, I don't understand why it would be ifne for a month and then start leaking.
Any ideas? Since the shop didn't take the tires off, I'm having someone else take the tires off tomorrow to take a look, but I was wondering if anyone might have experienced the same thing.
Thanks.

Go to another shop. If you lose that much air in 24h hours there will be a visible leak. Make sure you inspect the wheel too for cracks and maybe change out the tire valve stem.

Kinda had this happen once. For me my valve stem/tpms got loose. There's a little nut around the valve stem that I ended up having to tighten down. Turns out I just barely touched a curb and knocked it outta whack.

All,
I took the tires off today and it turns out there's a fracture on the back side of the rim.
I'm so pissed.
Anyone know where to get cheap rims? I only need 1.
Thanks.

If you do not plan on tracking, and depending on where the crack is, it can safely be fixed. You are in VA, guessing around the DC Metro area. I will have to remember where I took mine to. I had a crack as well, cost me around $100. the crack was on the inside lip, they cut the area out, and welded new metal in place (you cannot just weld a crack). The shop was located near Annapolis, although I am sure there is probably a location closer to you (was not a chain, but there are a number of similar shops around)

I did hear there's a way to fix it without replacing it. I'm actually in central VA. DC's a lil far for me (2hours). I'll see if I can find someone around here.

It's a crap shop. But it was the only Conti dealer in town.
I initially thought the tire would have to be replaced under warranty, not thinking it was the rim.
I called the local Benz dealer (which is also crap) and they want the numbers off the rims. Guh.

I initially called a dealer 1 hour away since that's where I purchased the vehicle. They were the ones that quoted me $1K after I gave them my VIN.
I cut out of work early and went to the local dealer who took the wheel off and looked up the number and quoted me $544 for a replacement rim.
All in all, I figured less than $600 for a new rim with install and tax isn't too bad vs. fixing the old rims by someone I have no info on.
