DIY remove calipers & rotors front and rear
I want to remove my calipers and sandblast them
This is my first biggest DIY job so i want to get it ready and feel comfortable with it. I have done changing brake pads and oil stuff but never remove calipers.
I got from other members instruction step below:
1) Unbolt caliper
2) pull out pads
3) unscrew rotor set screw
4)pull off rotor
5) replace with new rotor
6) put in new pads
7) bolt back calipers (Torque to spec)
8) check brake fluid level.
Can you some one clarify some of information ?
so i got my car up today, and checking the front calipers, look easy , since there is nothing in a way and easy to remove them.
as in the picture
front calipers:
just take these 2 bolts circle in red ?
are those one time bolts or i can reuse and retorque them ? What is the specs on these bolts 130 ft Nm ?
What do you use to remove the brake lines ? and where do i remove them ? also, what do you use to plug the brake line while i paint my caliper ? excuses my drawing
and for the rear calpers:
remove these 2 bolts i circled in red, but since they are in block from stabilize link bar i point to blue, so i have to remove these 3 bolts and move them down a lil bit ?

Sir, do yourself a big favour and do not attempt this yourself. To put it mildly you have no clue what you are going to do. Why mess with this and turn it into an expensive mistake.
There is more to brakes than taking out some bolts. Have you ever bled brakes before? Repeat- Do Not Attempt

not to thread jack, but i'm doing the caliper exchange soon and had a quick question. i got my brake fluid replaced about a month ago. since i'm swapping out calipers for new calipers, is all the brake fluid going to have to be replaced? i've literally driven maybe only 20 miles since i had it done.

SheryarYo, since you are putting on new calipers and when bleeding all the fluid used will be through the bleeder screw, try to minimize to open air the open brake fluid reservoir and maintain a good level. This will allow you to bleed without replacing all the fluid as you have already done. You will probably use at least 2 or 3 pint bottles of fluid minimum as the new calipers will be empty. Do not allow the reservoir to run dry at all costs.

SheryarYo, what is the need to change calipers? You just spent good money on a flush now 20 miles later you want to change calipers?

I know how to bleed the brake, ad I bought pressure bleeding fluid pressure, I got everything.
All I want to know if these bolts in deed one time use or can re use and if they are correct to remove.

got the flush done during my service B a couple months ago. I've been vinyl wrapping my car so I haven't driven it really in a while. I'm almost done and I was doing the caliper swap through ACG. since they paint the calipers and mail them to me, I have to install the new ones and mail my current ones back to them. I guess I'll just ask my mechanic if he recommends me doing the brake fluid flush again and go from there.

You do not really need to do a complete flush. There is actually very little fluid in the calipers themselves. When you remove the brake lines, cap them off quickly to prevent loss of fluid, and as someone else said, keep an eye on the reservoir, you don't want it to drain.
Put new calipers on, bleed brakes, and your done. Not sure what the torque specs are, but I bet if you call the dealer service dep, they will probably give it to you. The bolts are reuse. Makes no sense to use TTY bolts as your vehicle will have many brake services/pad replacements over the life of the vehicle. TTY bolts are usually only used in places where it is one and done, unless something breaks.
Also, for the rears, good quality tools, with an extension and a breaker bar, no need to remove anything but the caliper bolts.
