I'm not moving to Toronto, but my dad is moving there soon. He has a CL600 and S550 (Both current generations), and wanted me to ask for him if you guys know of any good shops in Toronto where you guys get your cars worked at. He can drive up to an hour for a dealer.
Also, what kind of winter tires do you guys run?
EDIT: He is in the Forest Hill Area.

And yes I have posted in the CL and S sections, but no one is ever active there, and if they are, they aren't from Toronto.

Still looking though.
What do they do exactly? Or are they an all-around shop.

They are an all around shop. Good, honest, reliable...what more do you need?
The 2 owners are from Italy and have worked on everything from exotic to domestic.
They work on my buddies diesel trucks, GT500s, Vettes, Lexus, Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes etc....
They have all the tools and scanners to do the job and they don't charge for every little thing.

Still need to know what type of winter tires to run, or if my dad would be better off buying an SUV.

You can try NV Euro Motorworks.

I take my car there for service and they are great to deal with and knowledgable and pricing is beyond reasonable.
I use Blizzaks WS-60s on my C for winter time and they work great as a winter tire.

If his cars are current gen and on warranty wouldn't he take them to an MB dealer? I bought/service my cars at Mercedes Downtown on Dundas, it is sorta their flagship store in the GTA and I've had nothing but great experiences there.
If you're looking for an independent shop I use Speedstar for all of my mod work, they are excellent as well. Not sure how skilled they are for normal off warranty work on MBs though.

Both were purchased new and these are the specs: 2008 S550 is approaching 40k miles, 2010 CL600 has 60k on it. So his warranty is done on both.
Thanks to all of you guys so far though, information has been very useful so far!

Be on the lookout for a matte black s550 on Vossens or a matte silver cl600 on HRE's in a few months
.Now that that is taken care of, Toronto Winters: '14 GL or should he brave it in the S550 with winter tires?

Our shop is located near Keele and Steeles.
We are about 20 minutes away from Forest Hill. You can take Dufferin down to Steeles and make a left up to Keele.

Guys, you have to realize that automotive techs are not born to be MB specialists, it takes LOTS of experience to know these cars. Opening the shop or finding someone who knows how to do the brake job is easy, try to find someone who knows these cars inside out...
EC is great, but for some reason my shop was doing all installs for them in GTA before they opened their own shop just around the corner from me and found cheaper alternative. I was never EC dealer nor I wanted to be, I just like to work on these vehicles and got my certification for fun
Good luck, but watch out as these vehicles are tricky to work on and, trust me, I know.
All I am saying is only look for referrals from people actually being to the shop...
Oh, I am not new to the board, just had to open my personal account after I stopped site sponsorship.
Igor.

Agreed Igor!!
With EC Canada it was never about finding "cheaper" labor. We made the company decision to open our own shop in toronto long ago, it just took a while to get all the pieces together to do so!

The owners of the EC shop in Toronto, Slav and Vlad, are both experienced techs with years of experience in not only installations and servicing, but also dyno tuning, fabrication, engine rebuilding, and motor swaps.
Thanks

I thought you have to be a sponsor to advertise... Especially when advertising yourself
Also, as I mentioned before, swapping engine on Honda Civic and replacing balancer shaft on a 350 are 2 different things. Good luck with your venue is all I can say.
