Dealership trying to overcharge me for rotor+brake pad job? (Picture of invoice)
the factory usually puts soft pads on, so the pads wear (and make a lot of dust) but are easy on the rotors
my RS4 was on original rotors at 75k miles, only 70% worn front, only 50% rear when I mic'ed them
my e46 M3 got 80-90k from the rotors
the rotors on this car are actually pretty cheap
http://www.genuinemercedesparts.com/...w=11&maxRow=10
F pads 228
R pads 120
F rotor 2 x 128
R rotor 2 x 192
misc sensors, etc 35
total material ~1000
probably 6-8 hours of labor for me to do it
I like to do this work myself, much cheaper, I clean everything up better (inside of wheels, calipers, sliding surfaces, etc.) and usually flush the system, plus the sense of satisfaction....6 hours of my time is definitely worth 1500 to 5200 (2500 or 6200 - 1000) judging from the prices posted

it's a dealers parts site
rears are more expensive, they incorporate the drums
the fronts are 1 piece, not floating

This whole el-cheapo mentality is really ****ing annoying. Maybe you're driving the wrong car if you can't afford to service it when it is clearly warranted.
I'm not being cheap, I'm being logical here. Of course I trust dealerships more than independent shops but dealership won't fix my fog light and the shop I'm taking it to does high end cars and will fix my dented fender as well. Knocking three birds with one stone.
Please think more logically next time you go ahead and click the submit reply.
P.S. I'm 23 and make $150k+ a year. Also the c63 is my daily driver and the weekend is a gallardo. Pretty sure you're some 50 year old reddit beard neck who doesn't even lift. Take care honcho
Pads
Fogs
Low beams
Fender pdr
Fog light hid computer module replaced
So that would be 5 birds with one stone
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I remember my 1st 150k a year...Don't be a cocky idiot...I make what you make in a year in almost a month now and I never chirp people like that and I'm 24.
P.S dumb finanical move to buy a lambo with a 150k/year income...no offence but put money into a portfolio and turn that 150k a year into 500 a year in no time...just my 2cents tho

Yes, I know the fronts are not the P31 ones - those rotors are $1K each.
Mods feel free to delete thread I don't have time for this
Uh oh...big boy now that you're making 6 figures...Lol...like I said man..that attitude will get you no where long-term with wealth...all I'm saying is stay humble, the guys over in the SLS section would seriously laugh at you.

If you are so ****ing rich at 23, why are you buying a 5-year old used car and then b!+ching about spending money to patch it up - on a budget? Is the meth supply you've been selling drying up or are a$$h0135 in such an abundance now that you can no longer charge the same rate for your butt?
P.S. If you're making $150K a year, you should probably be doing better things with it than buying a Lambo. Just sayin'.

the P31 are not $1000 each
BRAKES / BRAKE COMPONENTS / FRONT BRAKES / ROTOR ROTOR C63 AMG; w/AMG Performance Pkg.
MSRP Core ? Online Price $885.00 $0.00 $708.00
funny, my estimate was dang close to the $987 someone actually paid
buy the parts for 1200 (w/shipping)
install in 6 hours, that equals $220/hour
do you make 450k/year, wait, that 1300 is after tax so closer to 1800 or 300/hr or 625k/year
P.S dumb finanical move to buy a lambo with a 150k/year income...no offence but put money into a portfolio and turn that 150k a year into 500 a year in no time...just my 2cents tho

on multiple counts
you don't make 1.8 mil year
and you can't get a 333% return in a year 150k to 500k Mr. Buffet, lol
you are so full of it
btw: 'in a year' is not 'no time', it is 1 year

I never said I make 150k a month..but it's more then the average family makes in a year..who cares though...this thread shouldn't be about who makes more
Btw I said. turn that 150k a year into 500 a year in no time... I never said "In a year" i said..."a year" meaning it could take you 2 years 3 years 10 years to build up a portfolio that makes you that much

you don't make 100,000/month, which btw is not close to 150,000
it's 33% less, you don't make 1.2 mil/year
50k a year will not yeild 500k in a 'few' (2 or 3) years
it would take at least 7 years at 10%, good luck on finding that consistently
Listen dude I'm not here to throw around numbers...but you don't even know me...so don't go around calling me a liar after I've worked my *** off for 15 hours a day for the last 7 years to achieve what I have.
Thanks.
Oh yeah totally forgot that 50k a year in a high risk investment only stays 50k a year...Go smoke another one...

Maybe you need to find a new banker or finanical advisor

you can bank 1300 by doing it yourself, 1800 pre-tax
which is 300/hr, not too shabby for an afternoon of sipping beer, watching the alma mater get clobbered, and doing a brake job, lol
the only way I can justify cars like these is doing the maintenance
I said justify, not afford, but why squander hard earned $$$ ?
I make a good living, not 1.8 mil at 24 years old, but definitley top 5% household
I figure working on my cars since 1990 (e30 M3, e36 M3, e46 M3 and RS4) I've saved 25k, with interest that's worth an easy 75k, which would have paid for a car!
oil changes alone
500k miles at least 75 oil changes or , at least 100 cheaper than the dealer, 7500 bucks, >10k pre-tax

did you look at the yeilds
the graph is 20 years
20k hit 60k (3:1 return, same as 150 to 500) in 10 years or so (as I said!
1996 to 2007
now it's still worth ~60k, so 20k in 1996, 60k in 2013, 17 years
the 5 year return is 1.78%
perhaps you need a new banker squire, lol
never said liar, you did (Freudian?) that you don't make between 1.2 and 1.8 million per year
