The only supported way to get songs onto the hard drive is to copy them from a CD that's listed in the database used by the system to prevent piracy.

You're better off just getting an SD card and filling that up with your MP3s.

You can get hundreds of mp3s on a cd or DVD in the changer. Don't though because it takes minutes to load. Keep it under 50.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Yes, DVD would be an option but it takes too long to load. SD would be the best bet. What was MB thinking when they put those stupid pcmcia slots in cars a few years ago?!

Not an owner yet but pretty sure the reference to PCMCIA was metaphorical. The current slots are SD Not PCMCIA??

Why not just use the playlists on your phone? I use Tune2Air flawlessly on a 2009 model.

in my 09 at least, it is PCMCIA.. i have an adapter to use a sd card.

i can no longer find the exact one i purchased (it was on ebay.. and 4 years ago) but it was called SDHC/SD/SM/MS PRO to PCMCIA CardBus Card Adapter Reader according to my email confirmation from 2009.

good luck.

i have a bt receiver and it works fine but i can't control it from the car.. i tend to use both, but more often it's just easier to use an SD.

FYI- with Tune2Air and an IPhone, you can control via the steering wheel, see song titles, etc.

There is this one specific pcmcia made by Sandisk that is no longer in production. I'm not using one. I'm just waiting for my trade in a few years from now to get a car with built in SD drive.
