Picked Up an 09 C63..left Godzilla..

Hello MBworld

Don't have my car in the driveway yet but I put a deposit on a 2009 C63 and am just waiting to sign the paperwork before I can finally have her shipped to CA.

A quick background, I've previously owned E55's in my past but soon realized that the car was much too big for me. I've also over an E93 M3 and an ISF. I loved the ISF but just wanted something a bit quicker so I picked up a GTR. Yes I know I change my mind often I soon realized that the GTR was just too much car for me. It was too expensive, too big, too fast , and just commanded too much attention. I strongly considered getting another ISF but decided to go a different route which is how I ended up with my soon to be C63.

I'm looking to get more power from the C63 preferable to the same power level as a 507 edition. I know just about everything about Cobb tuning and their hand held systems but I hear OE Tuning has their own hand held system. Is it similar to Cobbs? Would a tune and Xpipe or Hpipe get me close to the power of either P31 or even a 507?? Can anyone recommend a good Xpipe or Hpipe that doesnt drone?

I'm excited to be apart of the C63 club and thanks in advance for those who answer my questions

I think a tune alone will bring it on par with the 507 Edition.

OE Tuning seems to be really popular. If you're looking for proven tunes with reliability to back it up, go with one of the bigger names such as Weistec or Renntech. They are a bit pricier though.

Eurocharge and an x-pipe, call it a day. At this rate you'll be in and out of the car in 6 months anyway! Ha, nice collection.

Curious, GTR commanded too much attention? High maintenance cost?

I'm assuming that being in a GT-R, you automatically are the fastest car on the road, which in turn will probably attract the likes of rice-rockets, crotch-rockets, and not to mention Billy-Fart Cannons trying to race you every where you go.

But that's just me.

OE tuning has proven they make great tune and have great costumer service.

Thanks guys. I'm in San Francisco. Going to keep an eye out and do more research on an Xpipe and the tune. Definitely going to lower the car a bit as well.

Hello Daniel, I too joined the C63 family two weeks ago coming from an ISF. The Eurocharged Tune really added power and made the shifts better more similar to the ISF. I also did the "mike" straight pipes/secondary cat delet to add a little more growl

Since I don't want to be a ***, I try to answer peoples questions. Here, in Canada, 50 were sold in 2012 which makes it a car that is almost non-existant here. I think in two years I saw only one or two... That's why if the C63 comes AWD (sorry for the RWD fans), i'm changing right away. Also thinking about the next RS5 because when I tried the 2013, there's a lack of torque there... Anyway, the GTR draws too much attention, i'm tired of this, I totally understand you. (but I like the performance of it though!)

Hello! Thats great to hear that the EC tune will make the shifts similar to the ISF. I loved how quick the ISF shifted. I am not a fan of DCT transmission whatsoever. I understand that they are the future so I probably should get used to them at some point. I know they shift fast but I can't get over how they feel in full "auto" mode. It still feels a bit jerky to me and thats coming from owning both a DCT M3 and GTR. GTR being the bigger culprit of the two.

Hope to see you around! I'm going to listen to some clips of the Mike's straight pipe but does it add drone at all??

100% on the money with this. Too many people asking about the car. It's nice that they want to know about the car at times but when they start asking what you do for a living and such it starts to get real old. I love how subtle the C63 and even RS5 (compared to the GTR) are. It's nice to have a great motor, fast car, and have all the luxurious touches without having all that attention. The GTR was scary fast though with the 3" intakes, Cobb tune, and HKS exhaust

Then you'll like the C63, I've only been asked about it once at a gas station after nearly 2 years of ownership.

Our handheld is not really like the COBB. With the handheld we have you're limited to very few vendors off the shelf flashes. It only allows you to upload those off the shelf flashes when you desire (and stock).

I have the Eurocharged and am happy with it. You get free updates and they have quite a few shelf flashes you can use based on your mods.

Congrats!

It's funny that I have a few of the cars you used to own (E55 and GTR).

Can only tell you you'll love the C63. It's a great blend of functionality and performance.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with

Any sound clip videos? I am curious about the straight up/secondary cat delete mod. I did x pipe on my c350 and it made it really loud. I love how the c63 sounds, so don't want to make it sound obnoxious by doing something. Does doing that void the warranty?

C63 AMG P30 + OE Tuning
Daniel: great collection of cars you've had.. I believe you enjoy modding engine parts to squeeze the most out of their power plants.

In terms of tunes, I've been on OE Tuning's Street Performance since the start of the year and love every single acceleration I have on it. A satisfied client of OE Tuning. Having said that, EuroCharged is very similar in terms of handheld flashing, performance and competitive in pricing.

The big guns as someone mentioned earlier is RennTech and Weistec, but looking at the performance and debelopment and results, the later would be the wisest choice if you intend to go full bore!

My two cents worth
