depends where you live and how bad the damage is ? there are a lot of factors to consider . go to your local bodyshop and get a quote .

Damn, you too? My body shop quoted $300 so that seems to be consistent with CZ55.

$3-500 seems a good estimate. Smart not to turn it in to insurance as it may be less than his deductable, and you don't want an accident to show up on Carfax etc. which it likely would if it is reported. The good news for you is that Polar white should be one of the easiest and cheapest paints to match up.

there won't be a deductible because he doesn't have insurance

one of my pet peeves

just came back from the shop. they said they're gonna take off the entire bumper, paint it and put it back on and quoted me 600. but my friend said he will give me cash so im not really going to argue

and would it really come up on carfax if the bumper just got scratched?? yeah im probably wayy better off just taking my friends money.

If it goes through insurance, it'll show up on CarFax.

If you're going to pay $600, might as well take it to a dealership. They'll use factory paint. A generic body shop should be able to do it for closer to $300.

I had a friend do that too. Cost her $1500 for the damage (bumper, mesh, radiator mount, misc pieces and painting). plus rental car for a week.

CoolBDPhenom03 recommended me his guy, and he does good work. I paid $300 when I had the front license plate mount removed. They had to fill in the holes and repaint the whole bumper.

I rebuild wrecked cars and $600 to throw a little filler, primer and paint is a rip off. Should be $300 max. My body shop charges me $200 and does mainly high line vehicles. MB white paint is cheap. If your friend is paying, go somewhere more reasonable. There are 2 or 3 German paints that are best for MB/Audi/BMW.

Take it back to them and make them repaint it if it is not a good color match. No reason to accept mediocre quality at a premium price. Request German paint, not the color match paint from their machine.

White us one of the easiest colors to match
As long as it's plain white. ie. no pearl, or metallics

***** until perfect, there is no reason that the bumper could not be paint matched correctly, regardless of the color. When mine got hit, I took it to the autobody shop owned by the same dealer that I bought my car from (MileOne if you are in the DC MD VA area). Majority of the cars in the body shop where MB's and Porsches... Hell if I had dropped of a Porsche, I would have gotten a Panamara as a loaner

Did an excellent job. You get what you pay for sometimes. There are some things you can go cheap on, body work is not one of them. You are paying more for the skill of the autobody specialists over the cost of the materials.
