Is it just me or are the astronomically high recommended settings for tires (rear particularly) on the ridiculous side?
Anyone venture off the OEM recs?
Even with a LSD, traction is all but non-existent in 1,2,3 gears...
Thanks -

I have a 13coupe non PP 18's with stock contis, dropped mine to 32psi Rear.. little better then the recommended 40psi but still no hook in 1 , 2 gears..
Also don't have LSD lol really hate that the slight drop in pressure causes the light to come on the dash..

I've been running the pressures set by the dealer upon delivery: F42/R45. I kept it there and have not had any bubbles yet here in pothole haven (New York City). It would be nice to drop the pressures a bit and see the difference in the dynamics.
Grip is very interesting in this car. Like you mentioned, one can break traction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Throttle input seems to be key to a quick break. Reminds me of a quote from Michael Schumacher about the 2.4L V8 F1 chassis, "With the new engine, we have more grip than power similar to a go-kart. With the V10s, we had much more power than grip." This car definitely has more power than grip!

The astronomic tire pressures are necessary for the super-low profile tires to maintain their load rating. Approx. 40 psi all around with 18s and 44 psi all round with 19s.

I run the stock psi. I'd rather slide around a bit and replace $250 tires every 5k miles than risk bending a rim that would cost me $2500 to replace.
