New to the C63, A few questions.
Hi Guys, I am new to C63 and have a few questions. I have to make a decision in the next few days between a 2012 C63 Coupe or a 2013 C63 Sedan (The 2013 is $2500 more). I am buying one of them. Is there anything different about the two cars that should influence one over the other.
Goals for the car - It will be my summer DD and will not be driven in the winter here in Toronto. I need the car to be reliable, but I am interested in the basic bolt on/tune set up.
How reliable are the motors, any weak areas to be concerned about (Transmission, Diff?). What kinda power are you guys making with a tune/bolt ons?
Thanks for any advice.

I believe the Sedan and Coupe have different front seats. Might be a good idea to sit in both see what you prefer. I like my sedan, the seats are very bolstered and it has room for 5 people and also I think the look of the sedan is nicer. Engines in the 2011 + are fairly solid. Stock these make about 360whp but with a tune you can get around 410whp. Headers will add another 25whp. You can get P31 performance pack which will give you forged pistons and rods from the SLS. I haven't heard of any sort of problems from the transmissions or diffs on these cars even with increased HP.

I assume P31 is the AMG performance package that adds 30 hp bumping it to 481 HP?

Looks like it will be the 13' black sedan I will pick up as it has the Package and the Coupe does not.
So 435 whp with headers and a tune? Is the motor still reliable at this power level.

Ok thanks, so the AMG Performance package is a 100% must... Forged rods/pistons and LSD.

As with any modifications that add power, there is a marginal chance for reduced reliability.

P31 is a definite must for an enthusiast
Will the motor be reliable? I believe it will. Lots of people running bolt on and tune with no problems. My car had a Eurocharged tune on it for over 3 years and it runs like a champ. Also since you are also in Canada I recommend you get a tune from Eurocharged Canada. They are decently priced and have great customer service.

Eurocharged is here in Toronto, so it is convenient to take the car to them.
Question... Does anyone boost these cars? Turbo or SC? Not that I want too as I already own 2 turbo cars. The C63 AMG will remain NA for me.

with a tune i put down around 460whp..(with velos around 490)..yes it's safe, the engine loves it..straight pipes are nice too but don't really add HP

nothing, my car's seen redline more times then i can even count, I'm 99% sure AMG revved the living hell out of these motors during development

This must be a very quick car.
