Muffler shop Montreal - resonator delete

Hi. I want to get my resonator delete. Is it mandatory that it has to be weld with stainless steel?

Also, any reccomandations for a place in montreal?

The muffler shop where I went were saying that SS in preferable and that it was difficult because the pipes were close and that vivrations could occur

I have a 507. already have X pipe in place of the 2nd cat.

Get stainless and get the pipe welded and mandrel bent to remove the stock parts of the exhaust where it dips below 2.5 inches.

Just an FYI - if you delete that resonator, you will introduce some drone.

I have this setup plus headers and am trying to fix the issue with new mufflers and high flow cats.

No drone , second cat delete and res delete has 0 drone . Nothing AT ALL. I don't know why all of you guys are telling others that there is drone, you have headers it's not even close to being the same setup! Alex, I'll meet up with you soon and show you that there is really no drone .

Federal muffler is pretty known! There around cote de liesse! They build exhausts so i'm sure they can make something for your res delete!

I have mbh headers, mids, x and res delete all at 3 inches up to the stock axel back.

The res delete introduced some drone. It's very loud but I think it's due to the mufflers. My SuperSprint mufflers go on Wednesday morning. Waiting on my RT cats so I'll be able to test out the mufflers with and without cats.

Keep an eye on this:

Your stock resonator has a built in h-pipe....this tones it down a bit.

Do you guys think it will drone much if I just straight pipe the resonators? Im going to keep all the Cats and the stock exhaust in place. Just wanted just a tad bit more growl.

What ever you end up doing, make sure you go to a shop which specializes only in Stainless Steel Exhaust, not a shop which says it has worked with stainless!
Normally steel pipe jockeys will try but will fail with the bending of stainless and the welds will be atrocious, blob me a weld style.

NO DRONE.
Res removal best $100 mod for this car. Some say backpressure is missing with straights, thats true but the beast becomes more beastly without being abnoxious.

Thanks a lot fellas,

Im so surprised that the OP's exhaust shop cant do it. My local shop quoted me 75 dollars to do it and the welds are great at the shop.

I think I will end up doing it.

Save your time & money, the resonator is straight through anyways, no gain. But if you insist, I'd go to Federal Muffler, they did my sec cat delete/x-pipe.

Resonator and the bent pipe after that does create restriction to the flow.....

Resonator IS NOT straight through. There is an H in there.

I have mine cut off and I can see the H. It's silly to have an X and an H.

Yes, there's a small H crossover within. From the research I did & seeing first hand, all you gain is noise.

If the OP wants, he can meet up with overspooled & I to hear the difference.
