New C63 AMG 507 break noise
Hi, I just received my c63 507 after a long wait but I have a problem with the brakes. Driving the car, I hear a squealing noise from the breaks when I slowly stop the car, is this normal???? Any known breaks issues with this model? : nix:

For high-performance brakes (i.e., a big brake "kit"), this is sometimes typical behavior. I've been told that bedding in the brakes upon delivery can help to diminish the risk of the problem occurring.

It's hard to hear but yes it's typical behavior from brakes that are as large as equipped on the C63.
2 things you can do to help. First being your own bedding of the pads. Second and most importantly would be throwing those OEM pads in the garbage and getting a better compound that will dust significantly less, bite more, and hopefully provide less noise.

Typical for Mercedes. My wife's GLK squeals worse than my 507, but yes both do squeal. I only notice it during gentle breaking at slow speeds for both.

I had same issue on my old 08 C300. Car was in and out of shop, they couldn't figure it out at one dearlership, went to another one, they told me it happened from the clips. Anyway, they replaced the clips on the rear brakes, and issue never came back.

Mine has done it from day one , annoying yes , still does it at times when they're hot and coming to a stop , has 34 k now , I guess drive them harder then they may become quieter

Mine squealed the same way. I asked them to check it out and they said it was normal but they would go ahead and replace the rear pads under warranty. 500 miles so far and no noise but that's hardly any mileage.

This provides no useful info to the question , different car , different breaks , not the same issue either

totally different issues. all 204's this is C class and GLK of any motor share the same parking brake assemblies. The repair pertains to a clip that the pads ride on.
The other noise that the thread is talking about is pretty normal on big high performance brakes. very light braking at low speeds once warm. As mentioned you can try different pads. Any feed back from aftermarket pad users?

This. All MB brakes, AMG or not, squeak unless you drive 'em hard. Do a panic stop from freeway speeds in the middle of the night once or twice, and the noise will go away for a while. If you drive aggressive all the time, the brakes will be silent. It's all about driving style.

Breaks squeal
It may be you washed it or let the brakes get wet. MB says to always drive a bit after washing to prevent rust and possible pads sticking in last position, a bit. Amazing how quick the rust forms.
2 Someone may have replaced the pads with cheaper ones or harder ones.
Wagner brand brake pads, from many years ago had a lot of resin, in them and were hard and squeaked all the time .
3 the pads and brakes may need cleaning. That is the one good thing about pressure washers, at appropriate settings.
I'd pull them and very lightly sand the surface if it persist. Wipe the rotors with brake cleaner.
Check to see if there is grease etc on the rotors especially the back side.
I've only had momentary noise of pad sticking from not drying the brakes after washing.
That don't do it replace with MB pads maybe
Could be if the pads are on since 09, time to replace. Might even be rivets digging in, since I can't see them.

I assume living in Paris wont help you bedding the pads efficiently. Unless you go to a nice empty stretch and get it done. If you do not plan on tracking your car I think OEM pads are enough but could be dustier than some aftermarket models.
Bon courage et bienvenue dans le cercle AMG
