Valvetronic Exhaust Fault. Need Help.

Hi guys,

I have a full IPE Valvetronic exhaust on my C63.

Never had an issue until this afternoon. Was driving with the valves open then all of a sudden the valves closed and won't open. I have turned the car off and on several times, let it rest and tried again with no luck.

Anyone know what the issue may be or had a similar problem?

I think the Agency Power is the same system or use the same mufflers so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Charlie

Have you checked the connections? I was installing my new diffuser this weekend and looked at my setup to make sure I did not pinch anything. If you need the docs, send me a PM with your email.

Haven't had a chance to check the connection, will do so today.

I personally don't think it is a connection issue, because the valves are closed. It needs a to be told to shut the valves, and the valves open once the car is turned off.

I have emailed the supplier and will check it out today.

Just checked the electronics and they look ok. I can hear the unit click when I press the remote which means the remotes are fine.

Will book it in to check out the problem.

Thanks for your help.

heat has historically been a problem with these valve type setups. The temps at that point are still extraordinary and can bugger them over time. Might need to get it up on a hoist i reckon mate

Thanks Ben. I got a feel it is heat or may have struck something on the road that dislodged or broke the vacuum hose.

I have booked it in with Ramspeed for Tuesday to get it on a hoist and look at it.

If you are around on Tuesday let me know.

I've only had my iPE since Aug 13 and it maybe has 3,000 kms on it. No problems yet. Hope it's an easy fix for you.

Just an update.

There was nothing wrong with the components of the system, the issue was one of the wires was pressing against part of the engine and the wire melted and shorted out.

Cable was re-routed and re-run so it wouldn't happen again and back to its happy obnoxious self.

One of the cables runs into the fuse box to the key power switch. Must have been the supercharger install that added something which caused it because it had been fine for 12 months prior.

Good to know it was something small. How is that exhaust with the blower?

I am glad i have seen this post, So your running the IPE exhaust with a Supercharger???
I have just ordered one and I was asked if the exhaust would still function due to the extra air flow from the Supercharger????
So I assume it works fine???

Cant wait to here mine once its fitted now.

Supercharger and iPE exhaust works great. No issues, and makes the same power as other exhaust systems with the charger. Place that fitted it said the dyno figures were spot on with all other installs.

Hi Charlie.
I've a full IPE system for about 5 months. Was driving along with valves open then they just shut. Turns out the vacuum hose connection to the intake manifold had cracked the stock connection.
Just had that fixed yesterday and valves now open and close like normal.
However, now if i give it the beans the valves close, then re-open after i back off. WTF??
Does anybody have any ideas?? I'm guessing its something to do with vacuum pressure loss??
Some help here would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers ...
AL.

I drive a 2013 with supercharger and just found out it has valvetronic exhaust on it which doesn't work correctly and am trying to sort out the issue. I push the buttons on the remote and u can here it clicking and see the actuator trying to move but the butterfly valve won't budge, I've soaked it a couple times in this high performance penetrant and still nothing anyone have suggestions?????
also someone was asking about how it sounds well it sounds bloody angry when u step on it lol
