Time to replace my C63 front brakes

Hi All,

My dealer tells me that it will be time to replace my front brakes in the coming months. I've always done my on brake jobs without any issues and wonder if the C63 is any different from your "standard" brake job (anything special other than you MUST replace brake sensor ?)

I 've been told that since this is my first brake job on this car, I can probably do just the pads and sensors and I wonder what you guys think about that ?

I've found OEM parts on ecstuning.com that seem like a good deal at $220 + sensors and wonder if I "NEED" to get the rotors as well.

Please keep in mind, the car is for sale so I'd like to spend as little as possible on it (without doing anything "wrong")

If I need the rotors too, can anyone comment on weather or not this is what I need for a standard 2011 C63: http://www.ecstuning.com/Mercedes_Be...ors/ES2612254/

Thank you for your time

The rotors lasts quite a long time, so you should be good...but you should check the thickness just to be sure.

I personally like Porterfield R4-S pads since they produce very little brake dust compared to OEM pads and are rotor-friendly. If you really want OEM pads, FCPEuro has some pretty good prices.

EDIT: Those rotors seems right if your C63 doesn't have the performance package, which means you have the two-piece rotors instead of the standard steelies.

Thanks !

Will look in to the R4-S, I'm also quite annoyed with the overabundance of brake dust from the OEM pads.

I have porterfields in stock. They are great, no noise, no dust, great stopping power.

Let me know if you need a set.

I believe so. although for some reason I am recalling that there's only 1. maybe. I can check later, or I'm sure someone will chime in to tell me I'm wrong.

There's definitely two, just not sure if there's four.

then it's 2, but I can verify that in a couple of hours from now. (I either thought it was 4, and there ended up being two, or I thought there was 2 and there ended up being 1).

It is 2 sensors.
As for Op if you plan on selling the car OEM pads would be just fine. Check any parts website for better pricing than stealership.
You don't need to change your rotors unless they are worn out which shouldn't be the case. They usually last longer. How many miles on your C63?

So I have ordered replacement R4S pads front and rear, and in the time it took them to arrive, I have noticed my brake pedal started to pulsate a little bit at higher speeds.

I'm guessing the front rotors are slightly warped and that this is an indication that I should replace them at the same time. (I'm at about 45k miles)

I've looked everywhere trying to find suitable rotors but I'm getting all sorts of uncertain information. I was hoping I might get a little help here.

2011 C653 AMG, NON perf pack, looking for replacement front and possibly rear rotors, something reasonable that wont break the bank but still stop the car well (stock ones are fine for my needs), Especially since I'm returning the lease soon. Preferably something that looks like stock (cross drilled) so the dealer won't ***** when I return the lease), and of course that is a good match with my portfield R4-S pads).

=

As usual, I thank you all for your help !

Would these be direct replacement for a 2010 with the PP?

any cheaper alternatives on rotors but still save some weight over the stock ones?
what other pads do you guys recommend for lower dust but more stopping power?(could live with a slight noise)

Yes they are.
they come with our ET500 brake pads that feature a low dust with little to no squeaking and provides additional stopping power over stock pads.
