The Best of Mercedes & AMG

A drive across the country continuously for hundreds of miles is about the *lowest* stress condition your engine will ever face. Good airflow, low RPMs = zero strain on the motor or tranny.
They quoted me as follows in Canadian dollars PLUS tax PLUS the estimated 8 hours installation costs:
204-880-06-00 $550.20
204-500-57-00 $2821.83
Total pre-tax and pre-instalation : $3372.03
Prices from two US dealers are quoted as
204-880-06-00 $1001.00
204-500-57-00 $819.50
Total pre-tax and pre-instalation : $1820.50
OK I will have to add the exchange and some shipping costs but the markup on the 204-500-57-00 is outrageous.
Well I got in touch with the Mercedes Canada AMG Product Liaison Manager about this incredulous almost doubling price difference in Canada for the same parts. He investigated and got back to me with negative results. "This is the price in Canada, sorry".
What an outrageous position and disrespectful gouging policy towards Canadian AMG customers.

This is so true. i noticed today (first actual under 60 degree day I drove in) that not only were the temps holding steady at lower degrees but even the gauge right next to the gas gauge was going as low as 80 and when I got on it hard would creep up to its normal place but sat right in between 80 and its normal location. temps were 212F and between 190 and 197-200. Crazy how well car cools.

respect for doing this on your own - that is quite a large project to install it by yourself. Well done!! And I am very pleased to see that my write-up was useful - including the tip to work through Tracy. Her heart is definitely in the right spot - she likes to help us enthusiasts out.
The oil cooling upgrade requires no software change at all. The thermostat is taking care of it all - and now it has more cooling capacity to work with.
Regarding differential cooling - the finned heatsink approach works just fine for street driving and typical short track day runs of no more than 30 minutes. I had no issues with overheated diff oil even after a scorching day at NCM in July. Just follow this:

Happy New Year!

What are your normal temperatures that your car averages on the following:
Normal driving around town?
Aggressive driving on track days?
Spirited driving through the mountains.
Thank you
Oil: more variable, 215-225 F during street driving including mountains. The highest I have seen on track (ca 100 F on the circuit) was 255 F, mostly in the 240s on hot days. 230s in cool days.
I have the Black Series front bumper and 44O oil cooling upgrade. With that setup the car is solid. My buddy's Porsche is running oil temps that are about 10 degrees higher than mine.
