Check Engine Oil At Next Refueling

Hi, I got the "Check Engine Oil At Next Refueling" message 2 days ago that's when I decided I will stop driving my C63 till I drop it off at the dealership. Checking the engine oil the next day from the dip (while engine off) it seemed at the max level ( the highest red mark) but had a very dark color...turned the ignition on did another dip check and it seemed there was no oil at all not even at the tip.. just debris of oil that it catches on the way up. I turned it on today to change my parking spot and as soon as I turned the ignition on I received the Service B5 due. Please your insights and thoughts are much appreciated.
Cheers

How old is the car? Mine is 5 months old and has done this twice to me now. They do use a lot of oil, especially when new. Apparently about 1.3 litres every 1600kms is ok!

I just hit my 14500 Mile, any idea on what service B5 covers?

I have done 7000km in mine. No idea what the B5 is! I'd assume it's a basic check over and maybe an oil change. Can't imagine it's too serious.

Don't worry bud you will be k to drive it

You won't harm the car

Just go buy a couple of litres of oil and keep it spare these cars sometimes require a little top up every now and then

This happens to me every few months. Especially when it is hot and I've been doing a lot of highway driving. just stop by the dealership and they should be nice enough to top you off. I've never paid for oil when I do that.

I wonder how low the level must get to get that alarm in. I check my oil level very religiously and top it up when needed. I added over 1l within 3000kms of driving last time. My level was at the bottom of the second red stud. I've never gotten that low oil level alarm in.

Just add a quart, and you should be fine. I got the same thing at 18k, and my techs just added a quart.

The question is. Is topping it off ENOUGH? Shouldn't they open the crankcase to drain the old oil then refill the engine with new oil. Thank you guys

Mine burns/consumes a about a quart every few months. Looks like the manual is spot on.

Ummm yes I would say topping off is enough. You dont need to do a complete oil change until that is due.

Why are you concerned about doing an oil change? Shouldn't really matter. Engines burn oil. Just top it up and continue going till your service is due.

I've put 4 quarts in mine since picking it up in November. I'm sure the autobahns don't help. I should check my oil level tomorrow, since I got bored today and went and hit the 174 mph limit for the hell of it.

Think it really depends how hard you drive the car, half a day of hard driving at the track burns a ridiculous amount of oil. Literally changed my oil a few weeks prior and had to top off by the end of the track day. Car really eats it if you rev high in manual mode too.

The light usually goes off when you're down closer to 2 quarts/liters of oil. Are you still using the 0w40 oil? A lower viscosity may contribute to quicker oil consumption.

The really dumb thing about monitoring systems is that they don't warn you until it's way out of range. Like the TPMS won't warn you till you're 5-6psi below the recommened levels.
