BayArea Auto Insurance
I have my 3rd renewal coming next month and I'm curious if there are any folks in the same situation as me, to see their rates.
The basics:
- New 2013 C63 purchased June 2013
- 26 years old
- More than 3 years driving (a California thing)
- No tickets ever (clean record at DMV)
- Pleasure 12k miles per year (if even)
- don't have rental or whatever other insurance (so can't bundle)
- lives in San Francisco
- 500$ deductible collision and comprehensive

My premium was 1750$ for 6 months for the past year (so twice 1750$).
Unfortunately, I had an at fault accident (nothing bad the kind of stupid parking accident by myself, touched a pole
) with more than 1000$ repairs this February, so of course it's gonna raise my insurance. My new premium next month:

Are there any other folks in the same age/situation ? What company are you using ?
Advices, tips, tricks whatever you can think of, I'll take them.
Thanks in advance!
I do have my home policy with the same company, which is worth something but you're mainly the victim of a killer zip code.
PS. Make sure you check out $1,000 deductible. It can save a lot.

My insurance went up to ~1900 for 6 months now. Kicking myself for not trying to fight the ticket. I didn't think it would be that big of an increase. Anyway, this is for maxed out coverage with like a $500 deductible I believe.

Multiple cars with 1 driver doesn't increase rates that much
You can only drive 1 at a time so the odds of an accident don't change
$7000/year is nuts

They justify it with theft statistics but it's the collision that is the most jacked up. It's the same reason that gas is $.50/gallon more in SF than San Jose when the same tanker trucks service both stations. It's called charging what the market will bear. AKA gouging.

all this.
