C63 Tail light Recall
I just received a letter yesterday from MB stating that they are in the process of gathering the necessary parts for the major tail light recall. Anyone else get theres?
I'm curious as to whether they will be giving pre-face lift models, face lift tail lights or will it be a simple swap of bulbs..

We got it a few days ago. I have no idea what the concerns are. Lights seem normal. Head bolts, from what is said on this forum should be the recall. Evidnetly MB doesn't read the forms and other things and figures it will just go away.

Got the notice as well. The letter says if you have safety concerns you can call your local dealer, and I'm assuming they will put you ahead of the line. My guess is since they are worried about connector oxidation, they will just replace the connectors?

I think I remember seeing in the letter that they will replace the whole carrier. and I would imagine pre-lci will get pre-lci. I don't see a reason to upgrade the whole assembly to facelift.

Got it, did not bother reading it since both my tail lights had already been replaced previously when they tried to burn my car to the ground (okay, so light burning electronics smell and some melted plastic, no actual fire)

its a issue with the 08-11 models...the harness burns out and you gotta scrape off the rust (on harness and housing) in order to get a connection going. I ended up switching to some aftermarket LED lights since it kept happening.
